    Our client is a leading, locally-based transportation engineering firm in downtown Chicago, specializing in providing innovative solutions to complex transportation challenges. The team works closely with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), and Illinois Tollway, delivering high-quality engineering services to improve transportation infrastructure across the region.

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Transportation Engineering Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation engineering, project management, and business development. As the Transportation Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading our transportation engineering projects, managing a team of engineers, and driving business growth through client relationship management and new business development initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage transportation engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of services.
    • Oversee a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including IDOT, CDOT, and the Illinois Tollway.
    • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic proposals to win new projects.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions to transportation challenges.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure our projects are up to date and compliant.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, Master's degree preferred.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Illinois.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a proven track record of managing transportation projects.
    • Strong knowledge of IDOT, CDOT, and Illinois Tollway standards and procedures.
    • Experience in business development, including client relationship management and proposal writing.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
    • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads.
