Ocient is a hyperscale data solutions company headquartered in Chicago, IL, enabling organizations to analyze trillions to quadrillions of data records in seconds.

Over the past five years, Ocient has built a SQL compliant data warehouse for Petabyte and beyond datasets that is 10x to 50x times faster than competitive OLAP databases.

We are looking for an outstanding Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of 10+ talented engineers developing the Query Processing and Optimization solutions for the Ocient Hyperscale Data Warehouse.

While your primary focus will be on "people and project management," the ability to comprehend and provide input on technical issues and challenges is a must-have in this position.

Qualifications:

BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field
5+ years of industry experience developing enterprise grade software.
2+ years of experience managing engineering teams and delivering high quality software for customers.
Strong hands on technical leadership and communication skills.
Familiarity with C++, Linux, and SQL.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Github, and other Development, Code Management and Project Management tools
Experience managing feature development than spans multiple engineering teams
Represent teams efforts, priorities, and tradeoffs in various business interactions
