**What You Will Do:**

Perform all procurement activities and administers purchase orders in conformance with applicable purchasing procedures and policies.

Negotiate with suppliers in the areas of source controlled drawings, cost and pricing data and cost accounting standards, terms and conditions modifications, non-disclosure agreements, quality requirements, product acceptance criteria, technical evaluation criteria, progress payment schedules, and strategic supplier management programs.

Analyze requisitions and related drawings and specifications; identifies/selects suppliers; determines the type of order to be issued; issues requests for proposals; negotiates prices, terms and conditions, and delivery schedules; places purchase orders; assures product delivery, negotiates delivery schedule changes, and develops inventory plans as required.

Assist with sourcing new suppliers and identifying preferred supplier and negotiate contracts in terms of Quality, Price, Delivery and Payment Terms.

Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers.

Utilize contracting formats such as letter contracts, firm fixed-price contracts, cost type contracts, time and material contracts, lease agreements, multi-year option contracts, incentive contracts, master ordering agreements, and system contracts.

Consolidate requirements and develop most suitable method of purchase such as purchase order contracts, blankets orders, schedule agreement, repetitive orders and supplier stocking agreements.

Evaluate suppliers using methods such as supplier visitations (as needed) and various objective performance measurements, including Quality, Price, Delivery and Payment Terms.

Initiate and coordinate discussions or meetings between suppliers and respective company departments to resolve procurement-related problems.

Assist in reviewing needs and prepares requests for advancement procurement authorizations.

Prepare reports as requested by supervisors or as required by procedure.

Review pricing, production, and inventory trends to assure competent supply sources and economical procurement, and conducts market surveys to identify new sources of supply.

May serve as a full-time member of respective purchased product teams and participates in and provides input to the development and implementation of strategic supplier management concepts including process characterization and control and development of supplier partnerships.

**Position Details:**

Candidate must reside in Houston, TX or surrounding areas

Work week and workday: Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM onsite at manufacturing facility

Compensation package offered: A competitive base salary with quarterly bonus eligibility

New hire training provided by supply chain team

**Minimum Qualifications:**

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and; 0 - 2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment; or

4 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment

Proficient MS Office Suite skills

Proficient in Excel and all functionality

Must have multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks quickly

Excellent communication at all levels of the business and various suppliers

Entry level experience with turnkey sourcing, both domestic and international

Ability to read and interpret manufactured prints and tolerances

Positive attitude and the ability to handle high stress at times

Experience following business processes and offering improvement ideas

**Physical Demands:**

Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.

Minimal bending and twisting at less than 10%

Frequent filing, collating, using a keyboard, dialing, sitting, standing, walking, seeing, hearing, writing and speaking between 33% and 66%.

Working in an cubicle environment and may have both office and manufacturing floor working environments.

May be exposed to typical manufacturing noises (grinders, forklift operation, compressed air and electric and pneumatic tool operation, etc.)

Climate controlled facility and the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment is required within manufacturing floor.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Advanced MS Office Suite skills

Advanced level of Excel skills and all functionality

Oracle ERP system

Purchasing in oil and gas manufacturing environment, specifically control valves
