- 2+ years of experience as a referral care coordinator or pre-authorization coordinator
- Experience working with OneHealthPort, Carelon, or Availty
- Proficient with pre-authorization submission
- Experience submitting authorization & referral requests through various channels (website, phone, fax)
- Initiate referral authorizations and maintain knowledge of health plan agreements
- Educate physicians, clinical teammates, patients, and families on health plan requirements
- Document patient information following standard guidelines
- Coordinate with clinical teams to identify patients with Utilization Management needs
- Provide member services and answer inquiries
- Assist in policy development and information collection for appeals
- Submits authorization & referral requests to health plan via avenue of insurance requirement.
- Reviews benefit language and medical records to assist in completion of requested services, to meet health plan requirements
- Track authorization status inquires for timely response
- Assists in the collection of information for member and/or provider appeals of denied requests

Location: Remote (Must sit local to Everett, WA as they may be required to go onsite sparingly)
Shift Time: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: 4 month contract with possible conversion
Must-Have Qualifications:
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
The Pre-Authorization/Referral Coordinator implements, maintains and executes procedures and processes by which the company performs its referral and authorization process. This individual will be responsible for obtaining preauthorization for office visits, imaging dept, surgical dept, and lab. This position responds to inquiries from patients, staff and physicians pertaining to referral authorization questions. This person also researches medical history and diagnostic tests when requested. Additionally, they assist in review, processing, and coordination of prospective, concurrent and retrospective referrals. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:
