    Description


    Role Mission: As the Regional Technology Operations Manager, our mission is to lead and inspire a team of dedicated campus computer technicians in delivering seamless and innovative technology solutions across multiple educational sites within the region. We are committed to optimizing the integration of technology into the learning environment, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency. By fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and a culture of excellence, we aim to empower educators and students with the tools they need for success in the digital age. The Regional Manager directly manages the roles of Computer Technician, Sr. Technician, Computer Technical Assistant, and Lead Computer Technician and is responsible for providing leadership and guidance with the effort to support their team with campus issues and district wide technology projects. The RTOM manages the technicians alongside the Assistant Principal of Operations who manages on-site immediate needs. The RTOM is also entrusted with the critical role of proactively leading their team in strategic planning, support, and organization. They work to empower their direct reports to exhibit flexibility and adaptability, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of IDEA Public Schools. In this managerial capacity, the RTOM brings extensive technical expertise, providing effective solutions and expert guidance to campus partners. They work collaboratively with members of IST, Regional Director of Operations, and Assistant Principals of Operations to bolster instructional efforts through the seamless integration of cutting-edge campus technology.

    This is a full-time regional position that will have at least 5 to 15 direct reports that provide technical support across their regions. The position is 100% on site at your assigned region's campuses. This role reports to the Assistant Director of Technology Operations as part of the Technology Operations division of Information Systems and Technology

    What We Offer

    Compensation:
    • Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $70,532 and $82,170, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on organizational performance and goal attainment.

    • Paid Family Leave: Eligible staff may receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child, based on their tenure with the organization and caregiver designation.
    • Tuition Reimbursement: Staff members may apply for up to 50% of tuition paid toward a qualifying degree program, up to $5,250 maximum per year subject to manager discretion and budget availability.
    • Employer-Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face-to-face counseling sessions within a year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling, and other work-life services available at no cost.
    Other benefits include dental and vision plans, disability, life insurance, parenting benefits, generous vacation time, referral bonuses and professional development. IDEA may offer a relocation allowance to defray the cost of moving for this role, if applicable.

    What You'll Do - Accountabilities:

    Partnership and Relationship Building
    • Forge collaborative partnerships: Cultivate strong working relationships with campus leaders, regional stakeholders, and key partners to understand their specific needs and challenges.
    • Needs assessment: Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify technology requirements and opportunities for improvement within each campus and region.
    • Stakeholder engagement: Act as a liaison between Technology Operations and campus/regional stakeholders, ensuring open lines of communications and mutual understanding.
    • Advocacy for technology integration: Advocate for the importance of instructional technology, demonstrating how it can enhance teaching and learning experiences.
    Project Management
    • Strategic planning: Lead the development of comprehensive technology plans that align with the goals of and objectives of the school district, campuses, and regions. Plans include but not limited to 1:1 distribution, asset management, end of year and beginning of year projects.
    • Time management: Ensures that all project deliverables are completed on schedule within the predefined timeframes.
    • Risk assessment and mitigation: Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project implementation.
    • Resource allocation: Allocate resources effectively to ensure project deadlines are met within the predefined parameters.
    Team Leadership and Development
    • Team building: Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork among their team, promoting a shared sense of purpose and mutual support.
    • Professional development: Provide opportunities for training and professional growth to ensure that the team remains current with the latest technological advancements and best practices.
    • Performance evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and setting clear goals for team members.
    • Training: Design and facilitate training for your team, ensuring they are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles and contribute to the success of Technology Operations.
    Campus playbook/projects
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project timelines are met and all deliverables have been completed.
    • Assist in the planning and execution of technology projects, including technology pickup and distribution as well as hardware installation.
    • Partner with campus leadership to design and implement distribution plans to ensure they meet the 1:1 device initiative so students have all resources to succeed.
    • Ensure accurate documentation on project updates via Wrike.
    • Effectively manage project timelines and allocate resources to ensure that projects are completed on schedule.
    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or as needed.

    Accountabilities - Performance Goals
    • BOY Preparedness: 95% of IDEA Texas staff and students' instructional technology devices are distributed to campuses and available for use based on snapshots from Asset Panda for each IDEA Texas operating region's first day of school of the school year.
    • Service Delivery: 95% average on-time SLA completion rate of support tickets is achieved for the Technology Operations division in IDEA Texas as measured by ZenDesk from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
    • Customer Service: 95% average customer satisfaction is achieved across all Tech Ops services in IDEA Texas as measured by ZenDesk from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
    • Fiduciary Responsibility: 2.5% or less YoY attrition via asset loss for IDEA Texas student devices as measured by Asset Panda from July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.
    • Staff Retention: 85% of IDEA Texas IST full-time staff (HQ staff, campus computer technicians, and campus Registrars and SIS Coordinators) employed during the fiscal year will be retained and return on July 1, 2024.
    • Plan and execute successful 1:1 implementation for campuses/region.

    Qualifications:
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information management, or equivalent.
    • Experience: 5 years of technical support experience. One year of supervising or managing experience in a technical role.
    • Licenses or Certifications: ITIL V4 preferred.
