JOB SUMMARY:
The Division Director of Postsecondary Pathways will provide oversight and strategic planning for New Settlement programs.

Key aspects of the role include setting the vision and direction, fundraising, supporting New Settlement?s data-informed culture, integrating youth leadership throughout the program, guiding advocacy efforts, and supporting the staff to be the best they can be.

The Division Director of Postsecondary Pathways also engages in the field locally and participates in Leadership Team Meetings and other New Settlement-wide communities and events.

This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Associate Executive Director (AED). This position may require evening and weekend programming.


Job Duties include but not limited to:

Essential Job Functions

  • With support from New Settlement?s Leadership Team, the Division Director will provide strategic oversight and set the vision and direction for New Settlement?s Postsecondary Pathways Division.
  • Supervise and manage all programs and operations within the Division. Provide ongoing training for division staff on college access and success, case management, youth development, New Settlement philosophy, management styles, program planning/development, budgeting, record keeping, etc.
  • Meet with Program Directors to establish quarterly goals and review overall program performance. Assess and evaluate program quality through site visits and discussions with Program Directors and school administrators (provide diplomatic and constructive criticism as well as encouragement and praise).
  • Negotiate with Principals and key stakeholders on issues of space, staffing, activities, etc.
  • Create a culture that prioritizes both youth and staff emotional and physical safety and wellbeing. Create a culture of inclusivity and equity where all identities are acknowledged and celebrated.
  • Increase the public pro?le of New Settlement?s postsecondary pathways work and identify mutually beneficial partnerships by participating in city and statewide coalitions and building relationships with service providers, accelerated training programs, and continuing education programs at CUNY/CUNY Central.
  • Work closely with the AED and other members of leadership to conduct timely review of data to inform decisionmaking, program design and execution.
  • Review program budgets, PERS and staffing to ensure that they are aligned with the organization?s mission and vision.
  • Contribute to the development of New Settlement?s goals and overall management and leadership.
  • Assess and recommend new areas for program development.

Grants Management

  • Manage grant writing and reporting for division, including narrative creation for funder reports and proposals. responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and seeking additional funding sources.
  • Maintain a standard of excellence for all programs by tracking progress toward meeting all outcomes and contractual obligations and developing and executing action plans to address gaps.
  • Report regularly to executive leadership on program development, growth opportunities, enrollment and financial performance.
  • Oversee database and participant ?les, ensuring timely and accurate record keeping.
  • Oversee fiscal management of programs, including analysis and completion of budgets, developing fiscal strategies with accounting department, approval on expense reports and approving and issuing reimbursement to programs.
  • Monitor and stay up to date on trends, best practices and policies that impact and inform the field and identify potential growth areas for New Settlement programs.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned by Associate Executive Director and Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS
& EXPERIENCE:


  • Master?s degree in education, social services, nonprofit management or related field with significant program management experience leading youth development programming preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to youth development, gender equity, social justice, cultural issues, and community engagement as strategies for social change.
  • Exceptional leadership and emotional intelligence, with a proven record in developing cohesive teams, managing performance and productivity, strategic planning, and contributing to organizational leadership.
  • Strong project management skills can administer multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload, and effectively manage resources.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Sound judgment, high level of integrity, professionalism, a positive attitude and a sense of humor.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate discretion.
  • Must be cleared and maintain clearance throughout duration of employment by DOE fingerprinting screening.
