    Looking for

    Design Engineers (I, II & III) for immediate hire by a leading firearms and ammunitions company.

    Onsite roles in Exeter, NH and Jacksonville, AR.

    Position Summary :
    The Design Engineer is tasked with developing innovative mechanical subsystem designs for new and legacy products.

    This intermediate role in the R&D Department is suitable for mechanical engineers with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and relevant experience.

    The Design Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, conducts analyses, generates drawings, and ensures compliance with design standards.

    Responsibilities also include managing product changes, creating test plans, evaluating data, proposing cost-saving measures, and contributing to intellectual property development.

    Additionally, the Design Engineer provides technical support, follows safety protocols, and actively engages in continuous improvement initiatives.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities :
    *Develop creative mechanical subsystem designs meeting product requirements and cost targets.

    *Generate drawings with functional dimensioning, appropriate GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 compliance.

    *Perform statistical tolerance stack analyses and identify quality assurance plans.

    *Independently conduct accurate sub-system analyses using tools like FEA, Motion, CFD, or other software.

    *Process change orders through the PLM system and determine part dispositions.

    *Create logical test plans, work with Test Technicians, and analyze test data.

    *Initiate design for manufacturability reviews, propose cost reduction methods, and evaluate inspection data.

    *Manage Intellectual Property through patent searches, applications, and trade studies.

    *Provide technical assistance to other departments, follow safety procedures, and participate in continuous improvement.

    *Adhere to firearm handling and range safety procedures.

    *Occasionally travel as needed.


    Education and/or Experience :
    *Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

    *Level I: 1-3 years' experience, Level II: 3-7 years' experience, Level


    III:
    8+ years' experience

    *Must be proficient in using CAD software to create parametric solid models and associated drawings (SolidWorks highly preferred).

    *Experience using a PLM system such as Agile, is preferred.

    *Must be capable of performing moderately complex analyses such as FEA, kinematic and dynamic motion, CFD, and/or heat transfer.

    *Must be able to generate clear, fully dimensioned, ASME Y14.5 compliant drawings of complex parts using logical datum structures and functional dimensioning schemes.

    *Must be familiar with GD&T symbology and standard inspection methods.

    *Capable of completing complex tolerance stack analyses.

    *Proficiency with tolerance stack software is preferred.

    *Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing methods including machining, metal injection molding, plastic injection molding, stamping/fine blanking, extrusion, forging, and casting as well as knowledge in material selection, heat treatment, and coatings.

    *Must have practical experience with mechanical assembly.

    *Must be able to define problems, collect data using tools such as HSV, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and propose viable solutions.

    *An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
