The Arbors Assisted Living is seeking a highly motivated, professional and compassionate individual to join our team in the capacity of Medication Coordinator. This individual must have a heart and compassion for seniors.
- The Medication Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the day to day administrative responsibilities of the Wellness Department directly related to medication management. _
Qualifications
- High-School diploma
- Certification as a Medication Technician by Arcadia Management, Inc.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
Experience
- Two years of related work experience in pharmaceutical and or the health care field
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, inclusive of sitting, standing and bending, pushing, pulling or moving of objects and residents.
Performance Responsibilities
- Understands and follows Medication Management procedures as implemented by the Community.
- Orders/reorders all medication in accordance with Arcadia policies and procedures as well as the New York State Department of Health regulations.
- Calls physicians for prescriptions and refill of medications when needed.
- Maintains an open line of communication with the pharmacy to ensure timely response to any changes in medications, changes in diagnosis or other pertinent changes.
- Orders OvertheCounter (OTC) supplies from pharmacy, i.e., incontinence products, wipes, sanitary napkins, etc.
- Communicates with primary care physicians within one business day to advise of any change in medication/dosage prescribed or discontinued by another healthcare provider
- Conducts regular audits as they relate to Pharmacy and Medication Management as directed by the Executive Director
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding matters of significance as it relates to the elements of the job description
- Maintains confidentiality of necessary information.
- Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste.
- Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job.

Pay:
From $58,500.00 per year
