    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Housing Program Specialist, coordinates and executes day-to-day functioning of the housing intake process, supporting renters and property owners in need of mediation or cooperative problem solving, conducting outreach to and connecting with Property owners.

    The Housing Program Specialist is a strong relationship-builder, organizer, and works flexibly and collaboratively with co-workers, clients, and referrals partners.


    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Intake and Case Management:
    Screen

    incoming calls from renters and property owners/managers;
    Provide an

    explanation of the processes of mediation and make appropriate referrals

    for other services or resources;
    Provide case

    management including setting up session times and locations, assigning

    mediators, preparing and sending session letters and session notes;

    preparing and distributing materials, making follow up calls to

    participants, mediators, partner organizations and contract partners;
    Support

    other programs (making calls, attending meetings), as needed;
    Accurately

    record and maintain all case data and notes according to organizational

    standards.
    Outreach
    Conducting

    outreach to Property Owners and Manager
    Provide an

    explanation of the processes of mediation and their application resolving

    Property Owner/Renter conflict
    Developing

    and maintaining Property Owner/Manager relationships and mediation

    referral sources

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    ·

    High school degree or equivalent experience;
    ·

    1-2 years experience in relevant industry or related life experience;

    QUALIFICATIONS
    ·

    Demonstrated experience working within diverse environments and with communities of color;
    ·

    Ability to deliver non-judgmental services to all people;
    Ability to work with individuals

    who are in conflict and experiencing stress and trauma and ability to

    exhibit care and empathy over the phone;
    High level of personal integrity

    and ability to maintain confidentiality;
    Aptitude for organization and

    information management;
    ·

    Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including collaborating with a team, working across program areas, disseminating information effectively;
    ·

    Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
    ·

    Comfortable with and effective at working independently;
    ·

    Experience using MS Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint at a proficient level, and with data management software programs or databases;
    ·

    Must be available to work full days during the work week, available to communicate with team members consistently throughout the work day;
    ·

    Must have strong collaborative workstyle;
    ·

    Must have reliable transportation for work requirements and be able to pass a background check.

    HOURS:
    20-40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. ($21-$23 hourly) Must occasionally be available for weekend hours.
