Systems Engineer (DBA)
What you will do:
As a
Systems Engineer (DBA) , you'll join a team you can always rely on for feedback and continuous professional growth.
Your Responsibilities:
Design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems, primarily focusing on ClickHouse and PostgreSQL;
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and maximum performance for database services;
Develop and optimize database infrastructure to meet the scalability and resilience needs of the business;
Work closely with the development teams to design and improve data models, schema architecture, and SQL queries for optimal efficiency and performance;
Lead initiatives to upgrade and patch database systems with minimal downtime;
Collaborate with system engineers to integrate databases with other infrastructure components;
Enhance the monitoring of database systems to proactively identify and resolve issues;
Regularly perform database backups, restoration, and perform disaster recovery exercises;
Document database configurations, processes, and procedures;
Mentor junior engineers and serve as an escalation point for database-related issues.
We expect you to have:
Senior-level experience as a DBA with in-depth knowledge of database administration for ClickHouse and PostgreSQL;
Solid understanding of database design, tuning, scalability, and maintenance principles;
Strong scripting/programming skills in languages such as Python and Bash for automation;
Experience with Linux operating systems, networking, and security best practices;
Proven ability to manage database infrastructure in a high-availability setup;
Capacity planning and performance analysis to support large-scale environments.
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with cloud services and platforms;
Previous exposure to other database technologies like MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server is a plus;
Experience with configuration management and deployment tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or SaltStack;
Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes;
Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex, distributed systems;
Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices;
Eagerness to learn new technologies and approaches, and the ability to grasp complex systems quickly;
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across different teams.
