    Description
    A client in Plano, TX is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join the Payroll and Employee Benefits team.

    The Benefits Specialist will oversee all aspects of benefits, in cooperation with the AVP - HR & Payroll, using current Paychex suite of products.

    Said role will be the in-house expert on our healthcare benefits, give input when we make changes to our benefits package each year, and support +/-500 employees across the U.S.

    with benefit questions, enrollments, changes, or issues.

    The incumbent will work closely with finance on billing reconciliations, as well as manage the wellness program across the U.S.

    In addition to these duties, this role will also assist in HR/Payroll functions such as data entry, employee questions, etc.


    • Oversee and become the in-house expert on all aspects of employee healthcare benefits across the U.S.
    • Communicate with employees on eligibility, enrollment, and general understanding of benefits package. Will be responding to 30-40 emails a day and taking some phone calls. Most communication will be done through email or Microsoft Teams.
    • Oversee wellness program across U.S., including wellness budget, and collaborate with Director - HR & Payroll
    • Additional HR/Payroll duties as assigned
    • Manage wellness budget, in collaboration with HR Manager
    • Perform quality checks on benefit-related data as deemed necessary
    • Work with Comp and Benefits team to meet any required needs of the organization
    • Data entryworking on spreadsheets or benefits enrollments for extended time on a weekly basis

    Required Skills & Experience


    • High School or GED required
    * 2-3 years of benefits experience


    • Understanding of HIPPA, ADA, FMLA laws and a general HR understanding
    • Proficient in Excel (Pivot tables and V-Lookups)
    • Strong office computer skills with MS Office suite
    • Must have a sharp eye for accuracy and possess exacting attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills; will be interfacing with employees
    • Must be a self starter
    Nice to Have Skills & Experience


    • AA or BA degree
    • Paychex experience

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
