    is currently seeking a Tax and Accounting Compliance Specialist to join our Corporate - Finance/Administration Team at our office in Colonie, NY; Syracuse, NY; Boston, MA; Indianpolis, IN; Charlotte, NC; Birmingham, AL; Tampa, FL; or Miami, FL.

    The right candidate may have the option of working remotely from home.

    This role provides the option of a hybrid schedule with a work week that includes both office and work from home days.


    YOUR IMPACT


    CHA's corporate support teams provide vital specialized services to our technical business lines and market teams including, financial, legal, marketing, business development, human resources, information technology and operational services.

    These teams may also support clients when their skills and expertise are required.


    The Tax and Accounting Compliance Specialist has a primary responsibility to ensure CHA is in good standing with various state and local government agency by filing excise taxes, franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, business licenses, government surveys, and any other tax compliance needs.

    This position will hold primary relationship with outside tax accountants for quarterly income tax payments, income tax extensions, and year-end tax provisional requests.

    The Tax and Accounting Compliance Specialist will be responsible for recording monthly estimated income tax and year-end adjusting journal entries and reconciling tax balance sheet accounts.


    The Tax and Accounting Compliance Specialist will manage the government FAR compliance, supporting the audit and implementing process improvements to streamline the audit and annual DOT submissions.

    The professional in this role will need to establish relationships with Legal, Operations and other various departments to aid in their filing needs.

    The ability to create and establish a proactive approach to facilitate in all areas of compliancy is a must. Additionally, the Tax and Accounting Compliance Specialist will establish and maintain policies, procedures, process maps and SOX documentation.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
    • Minimum 7 years' experience in progressive business, accounting, or finance roles required
    • Tax experience a plus
    • Well organized with the ability to meet deadlines
    • Ability to build strong relationships with various departments and entities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
    • Strong comprehension skills
    • Experience with Deltek ERP systems a plus or any other complex ERP system environment a must
