- Create Standard Work: Develop standardized work instructions, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and simplify knowledge transfer. Observe operations, gather feedback, and offer actionable recommendations. Provide training on new standards and continuous support for adherence.
- Data Tracking: Analyze data to monitor progress, identify trends, and make informed decisions for further enhancement.
- Engage Manufacturing Personnel: Encourage continuous improvement by involving staff in problem-solving and decision-making. Collaborate with production teams to grasp their needs, challenges, and improvement suggestions.
- Support Process Improvement Activities: Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing Kaizen events to drive rapid enhancements in specific manufacturing areas. Serve as a co-lead in facilitation, training, guiding teams, and implementing practical changes.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing Practices: Apply Lean principles like 5S and process mapping to streamline operations and eradicate waste. Develop and establish repeatable processes to foster sustainability and teamwork.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse manufacturing groups
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies
- Ability to create standards, standard work, and visual management tools for process enhancement initiatives
- Dedication to driving positive change in manufacturing environments
- Proficiency in data interpretation for decision-making
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis, or similar tools
- Open to feedback with a commitment to ongoing improvement

Recruiting for an Industrial Engineer Internship at NOV in Cedar Park, Texas
. The Intern will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic multi-product manufacturing setting, focusing on applying principles from The House of Lean Manufacturing. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with our engineering team and manufacturing personnel to support various projects that aim to standardize processes, track progress, facilitate Kaizen events, and implement hands-on improvements to minimize waste.
