    Overview:

    The Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) position is responsible for the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Additionally, this position is responsible for the administration of the Environmental Health and Safety operations and managing the DOT driver program. The HR Manager serves as a link between management and employees by assisting with HR-related questions and issues. This position reports directly to the General Manager of the Berlin facility.

    Responsibilities:

    The HR Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.     Conducts recruitment efforts across all levels of the organization.
    Responsible for all aspects of employee on-boarding & employee separations.
    Administer Employee Handbook and policies and procedures.
    Manage ADP payroll system on a weekly basis.
    Administer and manage employee attendance policies.
    Administer and manage employee benefits (401(k), health & dental insurance, STD/LTD, COBRA, etc.).
    Ensure performance reviews are conducted in a timely manner.
    Assist with the oversight & monitoring of the employee training programs.
    Be accessible to all employees to address and resolve complaints, problems, concerns and questions with regard to matters
    pertaining to general work requirements.
    Support department managers in resolving employee issues, providing appropriate employee information and coordinating
    access to employee information.
    Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
    Involved in the Company Spotlight award program
    Develops and implements programs and policies for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical, and biological hazards at
    the facility.
    Surveys, compiles, and analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health issues such as chemical exposure,
    smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dusts, vapors, mists, gases, solvents, lighting, and ergonomics which are known or
    suspected of being real or potential detriments to health.
    Creates and maintains Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) info for new and existing equipment, processes, and materials.
    Performs field and safety measurements, safety evaluations, and hazardous waste evaluations.
    Develops and monitors emergency action plans, including periodic unannounced fire drill(s) to evaluate the evacuation
    procedure effectiveness.
    Develops or provides input to hazardous material communications, including maintaining safety data sheets.
    Maintains environmental compliance by conducting inspections, routine shipments and record keeping and reporting.
    Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
    Provides technical guidance to management, government agencies, and civic groups regarding health-related problems and
    correct use of protective clothing or accessories.
    Monitors the company's environmental and health standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    Develops and implements a program and system to track and evaluate worker injuries.
    Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations.
    Conducts, develops and facilitates training for workers on issues related to environmental, health and safety.
    Communicates incident information to other TIGHITCO companies to aid their compliance programs.
    Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
    Enforces the use of proper safety equipment and work practices.
    Provides discussion and comments on new processes, materials, and equipment being introduced into the workplace to
    ensure proper safety measures are in place prior to use.
    Manages DOT driver program.
    Assist in the equipment maintenance program.
    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, based upon the needs of the business.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in management or related field; or equivalent combination of education & experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years exempt-level Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge/demonstrable experience using ADP payroll platform.
    • General to intermediate level knowledge/demonstrable experience with OFCCP regulations and requirements.
    • General to intermediate knowledge of EH&S principles, specifically OSHA / EPA workplace regulations.

    Required Skills, Competencies & Certifications:

    • Excellent employee relations / interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to interface with employees across all levels of the organization.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of labor & employment law, as well as HR best practices.
    • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
    • Excellent active listening skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • PHR / SHRM-CP.

    Work Environment & Physical Demands:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
