    Summary

    ·Responsibleforpatientflowandefficiencymetricsandproactivelysupportsthru-putmetricsandassuresthedeliveryofqualitydepartment/clinicalservicesinaccordancewithestablishedhospitalandregulatory/accreditationagencystandardsontheoffshift.

    ·Knowledgeableaboutallunitsandtothetypeofpatientthateachunitcanaccept,thetypeofequipmentandmedicationsthatcanbeusedorgivenoneachunit.

    ·Worksindependentlyandisabletocriticallythinktodealwithamultitudeofscenarios.

    ·Demonstratesexcellentcustomerserviceskillsandcollaborateswithalldepartments.Usesateamapproachesinallinteractionsandupholdsandexemplifiesthehospitalbehavioralstandards.

    ·Maintainsknowledgerelatedtotheoperationsofhospital,nursingdepartmentandstrategicplan

    EssentialFunctionsandResponsibilitiesIncludestheFollowing:

    1.Responsibleforpatientthroughputforallclinicalareas inthehospitalwithfocusonEmergencyDepartment,PACUandCardiacCathLabandachievehospitalsstrategicgoals.

    2.Responsiblefortheoversightofpatientcareforalladmittingpatientswaitingforabedthisincludes:

    a.VerifyingcorrectadmissionorderinTeletracking/trackingandtrendingofgaps

    b.FacetoFaceroundingonalladmittedpatientswaitingforabed

    c.Ensuringstaffingcoverageforholdpatientsinanoutpatientbed.

    d.Oversightofthecareteamassignedtotheholds (roundingonthem,ensuringbreakcoverageetc.)

    3.Teletrackingsuperuser

    4.Responsibleforoccupiedtimermetricandcurrenthospitalgoal.

    5.Dailymorningreviewofallbedsthatareblockedtoensureappropriatenessandcohortpatientswhenappropriate.

    6.Supervisesallservices(patientrelatedandothers)toprovidesafe,efficientqualitycareandcollaborateswithNM/ANMtoidentifyandresolveclinicalpracticeandpersonalissuesoccurringonoffshifts.

    7.AssiststhestafftobetterunderstandtherationalebehindHospital/Nursingpoliciesandprocedures

    8.Providesclinical/technicalsupporttostaff.

    9.AssuresappropriatestaffinglevelsonassignedshiftandsubsequentshiftincollaborationwithNurseManager/DirectorofNursingandschedulesstaffbasedonbudgetedstaffingplananddepartmentneeds.

    10.Assurescompliancewithstateregulationsandaccreditationstandards.

    11.Attendsandparticipatesineducationalprogramsoractivitiestomaintaincurrentlevelofknowledgeorexpertisetoremainrelevantinpractice.

    12.Participatesinsharedgovernancecouncils/taskforcesasrequiredtosupporttheMagnetCulture.

    13.Adherestosafetystandardsforemployeesandpatients.

    14.Submitsallotherworkreportsasrequired/requestedbytheNurseManager/DivisionAdministrator.

    15.Collaborateswithadmittingtoplacepatientsappropriatelybyreviewingtheteletrackingbedrequesttoensureallpertinentinformationislistedtoachieveplacingtherightpatientintherightbedthefirsttime.

    16.Maintainsprompt,ongoingandeffectivecommunicationwithchargenurses/managersregardingunitadmission,transfersordischargeissues.

    17.RoutinelydoeswalkingCollaborateswithNM/ANMtoidentifyandresolveclinicalpracticeandpersonalissuesoccurringonoffshiftsroundsthroughoutthehospitaltoidentifyavailablebedsandcollaborateswithteamtoimprovethruput.

    18.PromotesfiscalresponsibilitybyreviewingallrequestsforconstantobservationandsupervisionatthetimeofinitiationanddoesfacetofaceroundsoneachpatientcurrentlyonaCOtoCStoensureit'sstillindicated.

    19.Respondtoallcodeshouseontheoffshift.(RRT,CodeBlue,heartStat,Etc.)andwillsupportstaffandfacilitaterapidtransportofpatientstotheappropriatelevelofcare.

    20.Attendsfirebells 24x7

    21.Performsallotherrelateddutiesasassigned

    Education&ExperienceRequirements

    ·GraduatefromanaccreditedschoolofnursingwithcurrentNewYorkregistration.

    ·BSNrequired

    ·Knowledgeofcurrentnursing,medicalandhealthtrendsandpracticesinrenderingofpatientcare. ·CPR/ACLS/PALScertificationisrequired. ·Minimumfiveyearsrecentclinicalnursingexperienceinanacutehospital. CoreCompetencies ·Demonstratesabilitytoestablishtwo-waycommunicationbyclearlydefiningexpectations,communicatingutilizingavarietyofmethods,activelylisteningtoideasandconcernsandrespondinginanappropriatemanner. ·Demonstratesabilitytodelegateresponsibilitiesappropriately. ·Demonstratesabilitytoretaincomposureunderstress.
