    Description
    Senior / Lead Substation Engineer


    Are you an experienced engineer seeking a challenging role where you can lead and contribute to the design of critical infrastructure projects? JDRoss is looking to speak with experienced Substation Design leads for our client a renowned leading EPC company.


    Responsibilities:
    Supervise engineering staff on projects ranging from medium to high complexity, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

    Develop electrical design deliverables, with a focus on protection and control design (protective relays) and/or physical design, covering distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission level voltage classes.

    Actively participate in management, project scheduling, and work/resource planning meetings to ensure efficient project execution.
    Interface directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise.

    Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) of substation design projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

    Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to facilitate their professional growth and development.


    Requirements:
    Proven experience in Substation Design, with expertise in Physical and/or Protection & Controls aspects.
    Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
    Demonstrated ability to perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control of substation design projects.
    Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
    Leadership qualities with the capability to supervise and mentor engineering staff.
    Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies used in substation design.
