- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate terms and agreements, and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and favorable terms.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with business goals and industry best practices.
- Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers, source new products or services, and assess market trends to make informed procurement decisions.
- Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Draft, explain, implement instruction, policies/procedures for purchasing/contract management.
- Maintain and/or implement purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
- Act as the company's representative in negotiations with suppliers.
- Coordinate removal or disposal of surplus materials and administer the departmental budget.
- Bachelor's in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist, Procurement Officer, or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
