- Recruit, interview, and hire for open positions on the Health Education Outreach team.

- Provide ongoing family and student skill building by planning and participating in group cultural activities and attending special events/field trips scheduled throughout the year.
- Build familiarity with the needs of teens and expertise in community resources to address those needs.
- Perform needs assessment data collection and review.
- Collect information on health, behavioral health, social service, parenting, educational issues within the local community, including availability of teen pregnancy and STD/I prevention initiatives.
- Schedule, plan and implement community educational meetings and teen pregnancy and STD/I prevention program activities.
- Ensure all program reports internally and externally are submitted in a timely manner and ensure programs are prepared for internal and grant required audits.
- Establish and maintain rapport with other internal departments, state and local service agencies, and community employers, and develop partnering opportunities when possible.
- Participate in scheduled CITC meetings, committee meetings, and community meetings off site as requested, including monthly meetings with the Outreach and Community and Entrepreneurship Coordinators.
- Participate in all required training and project partnership planning meetings.
- Organize the evidence based (TBA) curriculum in collaboration with the Curriculum Assessor/Planning Developer.
- Develop participant training to include curriculum, special presentations, and communication/correspondence.
- Collaborate on the coordination of outreach activities involving stakeholders, businesses, and volunteers.
- Coordinate capacity-building activities and schedule of activities.
- Conduct community-based support services where needed.
- Participate in community educational meetings and teen pregnancy and STD prevention program activities.
- Maintain confidentiality according to regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform all related duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills.

- Demonstrate ability to build relationships with internal and external youth serving organizations.

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in the field of Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Public Health, Education, or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Two (2) years of experience working professionally with youth.
- Continued employment is contingent upon completion of a satisfactory state and federal background check.
- Valid Alaska driver's license and insurable under CITC's automotive insurance, which requires a driver to be at least 21 years of age and have had a driver's license for at least three years.
- Experience working with Alaska Native people, knowledge of their values and belief systems and ability to provide culturally competent services.
- Experience working with Tribal organizations and/or within Alaska Native/American Indian communities.
- Experience supervising and developing staff.

General Functions:
The Health Education Outreach Coordinator position is responsible for fostering relationships with organizations serving Alaska Native and Native American adolescents, ages 12 to 19 (and pregnant and parenting youth to age 21) with a focus on youth outside of formal school and agency settings who are less likely to have consistent access to pregnancy and STI/HIV prevention resources and adequate preparation for adulthood. The Health Education Outreach Coordinator will lead a team that will engage with Native youth who are in foster care, homeless, pregnant and/or parenting under age 21, runaway youth, those at risk of (or who have experienced) sex trafficking, or who are HIV positive, and LGBTQ youth. This position will serve program goals through implementation of the Tribal Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP).
