    Description


    OverviewThe Global Tax Director will work collaboratively with other functional areas and programs to deliver superior global tax services and ensure accurate and timely tax compliance in accordance with company policy and procedure, federal, state, and local laws.

    The Global Tax Director will head up the following functions:

    Design strategic approach and lead all aspects of the tax provision and tax compliance processes for timely and accurate financial reporting, primarily in US GAAP (for SEC reporting), including the quarterly calculations of the year-to-date and forecasted annual effective tax rate, current and deferred tax provisions, actual and forecasted foreign tax provision calculation, valuation allowance analysis and related memo, stock-based compensation treatment, taxes payable and receivable reconciliations, cash tax forecasts, and related financial statement disclosures.

    Be responsible for actual cash tax reporting for 10-Q and 10-K and foreign and US tax payments are properly recorded in the appropriate ledger.

    Be responsible for the entire ASC 740 tax reporting and forecasting process, including calculations, reconciliations, SOX documentation, and financial statement tax disclosures.

    Lead the foreign statutory account and tax returns filings and work closely with our global compliance tax provider. Manage and lead the preparation of the U.S. Federal and State income tax returns and all related matters and resolve issues on timely manner.
    Manage the U.S. Indirect tax filings process and work closely with our outside preparer on the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.

    Interface and coordinate with many cross-functional groups, including global controllers, corporate accounting, treasury, and FP&A, as well as with our external audit firm.

    Partner closely with tax colleagues on various other tax matters (including U.S., International and transfer pricing issues) that support the tax reporting process.

    ResponsibilitiesReport and communicate quarterly tax reporting results, including the tracking of all tax planning initiatives through the ETR and cash tax rate including tax memo relevant to the quarterly provision.

    Report and communicate annual tax provision calculation, preparation of tax footnotes with a complete support including tax memos relevant to the annual provision.

    Oversee all tax SOX controls, documentation, and support. Research and resolve tax technical and tax accounting issues and draft supporting memoranda and schedules as requested by management.

    Prepare and review the global FIN 48 calculations, tax account entries and related annual disclosures, and coordinate with local finance teams to track global audit developments.

    Coordinate and communicate directly with other departments, including but not limited to local and regional controllership, technical accounting, treasury, and FP&A that support the tax reporting process.

    Assist in coordinating global tax planning, transactional, and compliance efforts, as well as support new business initiatives by analyzing tax accounting implications.

    Manage the preparation of any purchase accounting calculations and tax basis analysis.
    Manage the quarterly U.S. Federal and State income tax extensions and estimated tax payments.

    Manage the preparation and maintenance of detailed reconciliation to support balances of each of the deferred tax assets, liabilities items and federal, foreign state payable/receivable accounts on a quarterly and annual basis.

    Assist in the calculations and review of any quarterly and annual taxable inclusions under Subpart F, including any GILTI, FDII and BEAT considerations, as well as any related planning opportunities.

    Manage the Companys foreign tax credit positions worldwide and conduct planning for the optimization of credits in each applicable jurisdiction and gather foreign source income and deduction by jurisdiction to support foreign tax credit utilization.

    Coordinate the collection of all foreign documentation in support of the U.S. federal income tax returns including but not limited to 1) all foreign income tax returns, 2) tax payments, 3) intercompany transactions, etc. which are prepared locally by internal /external tax or finance personnel.

    Track all intercompany service agreements and ascertain proper adjustments for intercompany income and expense are considered for foreign and US tax return filing.

    Coordinate the preparation and review of US international and non
    • US reporting and related calculation such as: BEAT, FDII, GILTI, 5471, 8858, and form 1118,Review request for proposal (RFP) and provide tax guidance based on review of relevant and applicable Defense, SOFA and Economic and Technical Assistance agreements to pricing departments.

    Identify process and efficiency improvement opportunities including but not limited to use of technology for reporting, data collection and analysis.

    Assist the Executive Global Tax Director in the preparation of any annual Transfer Pricing, and Master File documentation requirements and ascertain the country by country reporting is complete.

    Monitor, analyze and report changes to U.S. and foreign tax laws and regulations to determine the financial statement impact.
    Monitor the changing U.S.

    state and local sales tax laws and regulations around the products and services to ensure that Vectrus maintains compliance in all states and local jurisdictions.

    Manage all the U.S. Federal and State tax audit inquiries and the IDR processes.
    Work with personnel around the company and world for data collection needs and follow up and review discrepancies.
    Gather needed data for all indirect tax filings and provide to third party service providers.
    Gather complete data for preparation of federal, state and foreign income tax returns and foreign VAT tax return filing.
    Maintain direct and indirect tax calendars for the US federal, states and foreign tax jurisdictions.
    Maintain Tax Fixed asset systems.
    Take full ownership of all assigned projects/tasks and ascertain timely completion.
    Work effectively with all levels of internal personnel and external contacts.

    Maintain positive working relationships with and, when necessary, provide support to other members of the finance and accounting department, legal department, etc.

    Mentor and develop the existing tax staff.

    QualificationsMinimum QualificationsEducation:
    One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    Bachelors degree in accounting required.
    Masters degree preferred.


    Certifications/Licenses:
    CPA certification required

    Experience:


    Ten years of income tax experience (which includes 4-5 years of international tax work), preferably for a global, multinational, publicly traded company with a proven knowledge of the following:Complex Federal, State, and international tax concepts applicable to U.S.

    multinational corporations.

    Exceptional tax accounting (ASC 740) knowledge, analytical skills, and an aptitude to solve all varieties of tax accounting issues in a large, dynamic, and collaborative business environment.

    U.S. income tax reporting for international operations.


    Other Requirements:
    Travel up to 5-10% of the time

    Willingness to build on your knowledge base and learn new things in the tax (and tax related) area is essential for success in this position.

    Experience with tax research software, i.e., RIA, CCH, BNA, etc.
    Experience with tax compliance and provision software (specifically ONESOURCE Tax)Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.
