    The Tax Analyst is primarily responsible for income tax compliance (governmental) and reporting (financial / GAAP).

    The Tax Analyst reports directly to the Director, Tax, and teams with (i) all tax department associates, and (ii) members of the accounting, legal, and business operations departments; to achieve maximum performance and ensure Company and department goals are accomplished.

    What will I be doing?


    • Assisting with the preparation of REIT Compliance reporting, including: (i) REIT Gross Income test, and (ii) REIT Distribution requirement.
    • Assisting with the compilation of quarterly REIT Asset test in coordination with business unit personnel.
    • Working with Co-source partner on the completion and filing of accurate and timely federal and state income tax returns including REITs, UPREIT partnership, taxable REIT subsidiary(s), and Joint ventures (partnership) (as applicable).
    • Working with Co-source partner for tax fixed asset recordkeeping including preparation and maintenance of tax depreciation calculations, tax basis schedules, and fixed asset reconciliations.
    • Assisting with tax planning calculations and scenario analysis, including budgets.
    • Working with Co-source partner on the completion and filing of accurate and timely monthly indirect tax returns.
    • Processing tax payment requests for income and indirect tax payments in accordance with DOA.
    • Assist tax department personnel with departmental administration including managing tax calendar, W-9 preparation and database, FEIN maintenance and various other tasks as needed.
    • Assist with other tasks as needed.
    What qualifications do I need?


    • 0-3 years related experience.
    • Experience in a public accounting role.
    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
    • Demonstrate a basic understanding of business operations and accounting systems.
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and work flows simultaneously.
    • Proactively establish strong relationships with all key stakeholders, including accounting team, operations and finance management, and external tax advisors.
    • Ability to understand, anticipate and balance the competing objectives of stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and quantitative skills with strong attention to detail.
    It would be advantageous if I possess the following skills, competencies and/or experience:


    • Experience from one of the big 4 public accounting firms.
    • CPA License.
    • 1-3 years related experience preferred.
