    SUPPORT SOLUTIONS OF THE MID-SOUTH (SSMS) is an organization dedicated to providing high-quality services to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

    We are seeking a mature, team-oriented, highly ethical and dependable professional with proven skills and capabilities to manage various bill payments and overall accounts payable functions for supported persons where SSMS is representative payee.

    This position requires collaboration across many internal organizations, people, and locations in a fast-paced environment.


    This is a full-time hourly position offering medical and other health-related coverage, paid time off, retirement savings and other benefits.

    Experience with Accounts Payable and/or Personal Funds management HIGHLY desired. Review the "Minimum Requirements" section for specific capabilities.


    GENERAL FUNCTION:


    Responsible for supporting all aspects of SSMS' supported persons' personal funds accounts payable, handling the payment (via check, ACH, or direct debit) and posting of all bill payments for personal needs, such as rent, utilities, phone/internet, TV, allowances, and other similar items.

    Includes close collaboration with other personal funds coordinators to ensure prudent management and planning of funds in each supported persons' bank account.

    This position may also help support some ancillary aspects of the overall SSMS accounts payable process, particularly as it interrelates with personal funds.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Personal Funds Accounts Payable Coordinator


    • Ensure full, current awareness of all bill payments and liabilities for all assigned supported persons where SSMS is their representative payee.
    • Handle incoming U.S. mail and email related to bill payments, and create payments, either via check, ACH, or bank debit, to ensure timely payment on or before defined due dates, to avoid late fees and any service interruptions. File all materials for retention and retrieval needs in an organized, consistent manner on a timely basis, typically electronically.
    • Assist with the establishment, disconnection, or transfer of home services.
    • Establish online billing and automatic bill payment where applicable.
    • Review bills/invoices for discrepancies or anomalies and investigate/resolve as needed.
    • Accurately track property leases and ensure close coordination with SSMS Real Estate Property Management on lease renewals.
    • Maintain Cash Logs and Food Stamp Logs for all assigned supported persons, and scan/retain/file all supporting documentation.
    • Track all regular and periodic/ad hoc financial assistance provided by SSMS to ensure running balances are maintained, and all payback is coordinated from supported persons back to SSMS.

    Qualifications


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school degree or higher required, and bachelor's degree preferred, with experience in Accounts Payable, Personal Funds Management, or Finance/Accounting.
    • Above average experience in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to independently create, use, and communicate through complex spreadsheets and documents.
    • Above average experience in computer usage and technology skills (including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Teams, etc.).
    • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATES (must be maintained throughout employment):

    • Valid regular Driver's License.
    • Valid automobile insurance.
