LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a premier firm in the Energy sector to hire their next Senior Procurement Specialist requiring Transmission & Distribution expertise .

This person will work closely with the EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) project team to prepare and execute contracts with engineered equipment / material suppliers and construction subcontractors.

This position will receive and evaluate commercial proposals, as well as manage the administration of the purchase orders and subcontracts through project completion and project close-out.

This is a fully onsite role based out of the companys Kansas City (Johnson County) office that offers a competitive salary, full comprehensive benefits package, and opportunity for professional development and growth.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates with Project Manager (PM) and Procurement Manager to compile a comprehensive list of potential bidders, gathering pre-qualification information and assessing MBE/WBE criteria for each proposal, ensuring compliance with necessary requirementsManages the issuance of RFPs to potential bidders, meticulously evaluating vendor and subcontractor proposals, as well as contract terms.

Oversees negotiation processes and provides recommendations for final contract awardsFacilitates technical evaluations of quotations alongside EPC engineering subconsultants to ensure alignment with project specificationsExamines, negotiates, and secures approvals for any deviations from corporate procurement protocols or project-specific terms and conditionsMaintains the Procurement Status Report (PSR), meticulously documenting vendor and subcontractor updates for each projectVerifies equipment and material specifications against engineering drawings, organizing relevant data in compliance with material management system standardsAssists in resolving issues related to overages, shortages, and damaged or missing materials and equipment by coordinating with construction teams, suppliers, and material yard managementQualifications needed: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field 5+ years of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) experience related to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects and vendor and subcontractor management Previous experience with supplier and subcontractor prequalification, Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation, bid tab evaluations and recommendations, contract terms and conditions negotiations, contract generation and issuance, vendor submittal management, and expediting oversight on EPC T&D projectsStrong vendor and subcontractor industry relationships The ability to travel 10% of the time Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; able to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization and work collaboratively on a project team Superior service mentality and strong time management skillsIf you meet the above requirements and are interested, please apply today
