    Description


    ResponsibilitiesThe Manager, Accounting-Foundations & Pharmacy is responsible for the integrity of the Foundation financial statements, including various tax reporting responsibilities, audit preparation and reporting.

    Prepares and manages Foundation budgets in concert with the operating personnel for those areas.

    Presents operating results of Foundations to their respective boards and supports Foundation administration regarding operational decisions and the impact on cost per dollar raised.

    Provides oversight and supervision to the accountant assigned to retail pharmacy and Norton Cancer Institute. Directs and mentors staff assigned to those areas of responsibility.

    Acts as a part of finance area's leadership in promoting teamwork and knowledge within and outside the department, developing policies and procedures and representing the area.


    Key Accountabilities:


    Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the Foundations internal and external financial statements and annually prepares the Foundation budgets and audited financial statements.

    Works proactively with Foundation staff to ensure good communication to support quality financials statement and smooth operations.

    Provides technical accounting analysis or industry-based analysis in determining appropriate treatment for activities of the Foundations including complex donor gift agreements, donor restrictions and endowment funds.

    Success is demonstrated by the achievement of a clean financial statement audit with no or minor audit adjustments.
    Provides guidance to Foundation staff regarding internal controls over cash receipts from donors and special events. Ensures that Foundation expenditures are in accordance with donor restrictions and federal guidelines.

    Advises Foundation staff on charitable gaming and income tax issues and ensures compliance with IRS, State, and Charitable Gaming Commissions regulations.

    Presents financial statements, and Form 990 to the Foundation Finance and Grants Committee and Boards.

    Annual completion of Form 990:
    Children's Hospital Foundation, Norton Healthcare Foundation.

    Works with appropriate personnel in accounting/finance and Foundation to gather information prepare and file IRS Form 990.Interfaces with Finance and operational leaders of retail pharmacy and Norton Cancer Institute in order to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.

    Additionally anticipating needs and readying support across the department.

    Provides proper supervision to staff under his/her direction:
    Reviews work of staff to ensure accuracy to area of responsibility. Provides proper guidance to ensure timeliness of work and ensures that deadlines are met.

    Develops, in conjunction with staff person, professional development plan for staff to ensure they have the tools to complete assigned tasks and improve skill set.

    Provides regular feedback to assist in growth of staff. Displays appropriate knowledge and use of technology. Works internally and externally to resolve system problems that may be impacting areas of financial responsibility. Leverages technology for efficiencies and control purposes.


    QualificationsRequired:
    5 years of experience in Accounting or FinanceBachelor degree in AccountingDesired:1 year as Process or People Leader role
