About the role:


We seek a highly dedicated, motivated, and passionate Accountant with payroll experience who can use the right tools to find the best solutions to problems.

As part of our finance team, you will play an important role in the efficient, timely, and accurate processing of all aspects of accounting and payroll.

You will be working alongside a group of people who are all focused on promoting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the department through exceptional payroll, accounting, income processing, and accounts payable services.


Key responsibilities:


  • Assists in the accounts payable process including filing documentation, ensuring proper approvals, and entering data into the accounts payable system.
  • Assist in employee expense reporting (Concur) including credit card reconciliation.
  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closing.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Payroll Specialist to meet payroll deadlines and maintain compliance with all relevant payroll regulations.
  • Assists in the payroll process including timecard reminders and following up with the payroll issues.
  • Search, analyze and resolve discrepancies, reporting to management as needed.
  • Participate in monthend, quarterend, and yearend close procedures.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
  • Assist senior members of the accounting staff to prepare budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines, procedures and state and federal regulations.
  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
  • Assist in financial audits and general ledger analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Assist with other accounting projects.
  • Assist in the payroll processing workflow and tasks necessary to accomplish accurate and timely payment to all employees in the US and globally.
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and department/division transfers.
  • Process payroll and perform final checks when needed.
  • Assist payroll supervisor in calculating bonuses and commissions where applicable.
  • Assist payroll supervisor with timesheet and payroll adjustment reviews prior to payroll closeout.
  • Assist with running payroll reports ensuring accurate processing of payroll.
  • Serves as a backup to the Senior Payroll Administrator for payroll processing.
  • Helping all locations with correct employee allocation and accesses as needed
  • Ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately while maintaining high level of confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You must have:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related area
  • Experience with General Ledger (GL) and Journal Entries
  • Minimum four years' experience processing payroll in both hourly and salary in an organization with employees
  • Experience processing multistate US and Canadian payroll is required, including knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements, PTO accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, and other pay related issues
  • Experience with employee benefits such as retirement accounts and FSA, 401(K), and Canadian RRSP
