    Description

    This role is for the upcoming school year starting on August 5th, 2024.

    Starting salaries:

    • Certified Teachers: $64,000*
    • Non-Certified Teachers: $56,500*

    *Certified starting amount includes a $5,000 Bilingual Certification hiring incentive. All starting amounts incorporate a $1,000 K-2 hiring incentive.

    Primary Purpose:

    Empower students through engaging learning activities in their assigned academic subjects, fostering their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. Equip students with the skills needed for success in society.

    Qualifications:

    • Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
    • Special Knowledge/Skills: Understanding of the core academic subject, curriculum, and effective instructional techniques
    • Experience: Preference for one year of student teaching or an approved internship

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    Instructional Strategies

    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the district's curriculum standards
    • Use varied instructional strategies and technology to cater to diverse learning styles
    • Assess student learning styles to tailor instructional activities accordingly
    • Collaborate with special education teachers to adapt curricula for students with special needs
    • Set instructional goals in alignment with district requirements
    • Assign tasks to instructional aides and ensure their completion

    Student Growth and Development

    • Assess student achievement through testing
    • Take on extracurricular responsibilities and oversee approved outside activities
    • Act as a positive role model supporting the district's mission

    Classroom Management and Organization

    • Create a conducive classroom environment for optimal learning
    • Manage student behavior according to the school's guidelines
    • Ensure the safety of students and classroom materials
    • Assist in the selection of instructional materials
    • Maintain required reports and records

    Communication

    • Establish professional relationships with parents, students, colleagues, and the community

    Professional Growth and Development

    • Engage in professional development activities to enhance job-related skills
    • Adhere to state, district, and school regulations and policies
    • Participate in faculty meetings and committees

    Additional Duties:

    • Perform any other assigned duties from your supervisor

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the work of assigned instructional aides

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    • Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer, standard instructional equipment
    • Posture: Prolonged standing, frequent movement
    • Motion: Regular walking
    • Lifting: Light lifting and carrying
    • Environment: Work indoors with occasional exposure to noise
    • Mental Demands: Manage emotions under stress, work flexible hours
