Salary Range:
$58, $74,750.00
Contract Length: 187 DAYS


Job Description:


Illustrative Duties:

  • Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of PreK8 students.
  • Teach and facilitate language acquisition in the target foreign language through interactive activities, games, songs, and cultural experiences.
  • Assess student progress through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback to support language learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate language learning across the curriculum and promote cultural awareness.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that celebrates diversity and encourages open communication.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support the overall educational development of students.
  • Stay current with best practices in language teaching, technology integration, and cultural competency to enhance the learning experience.
  • Engage parents and guardians in their child's language learning progress through regular communication, parentteacher conferences, and languagerelated workshops.
  • Organize and supervise extracurricular activities related to the target foreign language, such as language clubs, cultural events, or language immersion trips.
  • Utilize technology tools and resources to enhance language instruction, such as interactive language learning software, online resources, or virtual exchange programs.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests within the classroom.
  • Foster a love for language learning by sharing personal experiences, stories, and connections to the target culture.
  • Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and training sessions to continue growing as a language educator and stay updated on current trends in language teaching.
  • Support schoolwide initiatives and events that promote language learning, cultural exchange, and global awareness among students and the broader school community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience teaching foreign languages to children in a PreK8 setting.
  • Proficiency in the target foreign language with a strong understanding of language acquisition principles.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Cultural competence and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the classroom.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Foreign Languages, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Foreign Language Education.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Passion for working with children and a dedication to nurturing their artistic abilities.
  • Ability to design ageappropriate, fun, and interactive performance arts lessons and activities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adjust teaching strategies based on student needs and interests.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in using technology and performance artsrelated software, as well as familiarity with audiovisual equipment.
