    A leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services.

    The Firm's employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments and individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries.

    A multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund is looking for a senior experienced developer to data platform engineering team. The firm trades globally across multiple asset classes and investment approaches. The environment is fast paced and we are growing rapidly. This position will

    focus on building/managing the firm's data platform. This role will report directly to the CTO, and


    The successful candidate with have 7+ years of experience managing the data platform ideally in a systematic trading environment and should be intimately familiar with ETL pipelines, data quality concerns, and governance related issues.

    Responsibilities

    Lead a team of data engineers, analysts, DBAs, and database engineers to manage the firm's data services.


    Define and implement the firm's long term data strategy in terms of platform design, vendor selection, and proprietary data products for proprietary investment strategies.

    Maintain and improve the firm's data acquisition framework for ETL, validation, and monitoring

    Create internal datasets and analytics

    Build internal data governance framework for data catalogue, usage tracking, cost allocation, permission control, compliance check, audit report

    Work with Portfolio Managers and other data users to ensure their data needs are met.

    Manage vendor relationship, data contracts, license, cost, reporting, and audits

    Maintain and improve common vendor data APIs such as Bpipe, DataQuery

    Manage and improve the overall data infrastructure with a focus on minimum time to onboard new data sets

    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

    Experience in a similar role particularly at a fund with systematic trading needs

    Knowledge of market and vendor data sets and their use cases in investment process

    Knowledge of data distribution models, licensing models and governance strategies

    Demonstrated experience in building and leading an efficient team

    Experience working with portfolio managers, and other data users from a buyside firm

    Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, Cloud, and open-source data tools

    Familiarity with 3rd party data marts (data bricks, snowflake, etc)

    Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented, capable of performing tasks under pressure

    Strong problem-solving skills and communication (verbal and written) skills

    Familiar with project management and team collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
