High School graduate preferred with demonstrated reading, writing and math skills acceptable to the District. Low Pressure Boiler License and Building Operator Certification required, if applicable. State/FBI background clearance required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds and the building administrator: maintain buildings in a clean, warm, attractive and functional order; conducting minor maintenance tasks; operating and caring for all tools and equipment used in the care of facilities; establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff, students and community groups; specifically.
Constantly %Serve as a cooperative member of the custodial teamKnow and observe good safety procedures; maintain safe working conditions; comply with safety rules and regulationsMaintain appropriate physical condition and health status necessary to perform duties and responsibilities as assignedMust be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodationOccasionally - 6-33%Sweep, mop, and scrub floors; dust; empty and clean waste receptacles; wash windows and walls; move and arrange furniture and equipmentClean and sanitize rest rooms, dressing rooms, shower rooms, drinking fountains, kitchens and otherwise maintain overall sanitary conditions of facility; replenish rest room and custodial cart suppliesOperate power cleaning equipmentPerform other duties as assigned by lead custodian and/or administratorNON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Rarely - 1-5%Perform lawn, shrubbery, parking lot, sidewalk, and associated exterior duties as assignedMaintain adequate supplies and materials needed for proper building function by communicating inventory requests to lead custodianMaintain security of buildings, turn out lights, lock doors and windows; maintain awareness of unauthorized person(s) on or about premisesReport any safety, sanitary or fire hazardAssist with special events held at the building as time permitsMaintain records, completing and submitting reports as requiredOperate keyless entrance, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, bell, clocks and intercomsPerform minor maintenance and repair including, but not limited to, minor electrical repairs including changing ballasts, switches, etc.; minor plumbing repairs such as flush valves, gaskets, etc.; minor repair of wall board, ceiling tile, touch up painting, etc.
ANNUAL DUTIESNote:
Annual duties take place during breaks and summer time and tasks times can vary from occasionally to constantly for extended periods of time.
Strip and wax floors; apply finish coats to gymnasium floor as neededWash and polish furnitureRearrange furniture in classroomsREQUIREMENTS:Demonstrated basic knowledge and skills of custodial work including facility maintenance and repair activities and willing to be tested thereonPunctual and dependable, able to work well with others, maintain good health, have ability to perform heavy physical labor, able to lift 100 pounds occasionally and able to work effectively in tight quarters and at heights, from lifts and laddersClass IV Boiler License, certificate of completion or willingness to obtain one, if applicableMaintain a valid Washington State Driver's License.
