    JOB SUMMARY:
    The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the electrical design of the project assigned. Specifically, this position will utilize expert knowledge and skills in the engineering and design of electrical systems. Projects assigned to the Senior Electrical Engineer are generally larger and more complex in nature. This position is responsible for identifying and providing solutions to complex electrical design problems.

    The Senior Electrical Engineer will initiate conceptual designs subject to the review and approval of the Electrical Engineer Team Lead, Engineering Manager, and Preconstruction Manager.


    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Responsible for all aspects of the electrical design of the project assignedOrganize the design and engineering effort required to facilitate the projectReport to the team lead electrical engineer regarding scheduling requirementsDirect and accept responsibility for the work of designers and engineers assigned to the projectMake any adjustments to drawings, calculations, and specifications as required by the team lead electrical engineerMust be familiar with the project's scope of work, engineering hours budget, and construction budgetAssist in developing and maintaining drafting, design, and engineering standardsUtilize knowledge of engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete the drawings with minimal supervisionCollaborate with project teams to monitor and meet milestones of the project schedule within the allotted budgetsInform the team lead electrical engineer of project scope and budget changes; make on-going coordination checks to assure project quality and adherence to the project budgetPerform site surveys and equipment assessmentsProvide project engineering coordination during construction as assignedServe in a support role on projects as directed by the team lead electrical engineerDevelop accurate preliminary design solutions for prospective complex projects within an expedited timeframe.

    Interact with project stakeholders, contractors, and third-party associates to develop and maintain productive working relationshipsOther tasks as assigned within the scope of this role

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of five (5) years' electrical engineering experience with a professional engineering firm, or electrical contractor engaged in MEP related or similar workProfessional Electrical Engineer's license is a plus, but not requiredDriver's license and reliable transportationWillingness to travel to worksites, up to 25%KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong understanding of electrical and construction means, and methods associated with the renovation of commercial and institutional buildings and/or similar facilitiesProficiency with systems design (ie.

    Fire Alarm, TeleCom, Security, etc.)Proficient user of Microsoft office suite; highly proficient in the use of Excel and other software used in the construction industryFamiliarity with project management software (e.g.

    Procore, Bluebeam Revu)Proficient user of AutoCAD/Revit Design softwareExcellent mathematic skills in order to perform the duties of this role, review or prepare budgets and other job-related documents, and to effectively perform the role of an electrical engineerStrong communication skills (oral and written); must be able to effectively relay information to various audience groups, including, but not customers and perspective customers, managers, leadership, colleagues, and business associates; must be able to prepare professional written communications (emails, documents, etc.) Strong interpersonal skills; ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with individuals internal and external to the company and from various backgroundsHighly collaborative and focused on sharing details routinely and consistently with team membersSelf-managing, able to work autonomously when necessary and effectively integrate with project teammates to meet deadlines and expectationsDemonstrate a persistent optimism and the ability to navigate challenges in a way that produces value, exceeds expectations, and promotes company successDemonstrate the ability to approach new and demanding situations with innovation and determinationOperate at a high level of speed and productivity, be sensitive to time and cost factors associated with their expertise, project budgets and company-wide financial goalsStrong organization skills with the ability to self-motivate and prioritize tasks; must be able to effectively manage own schedule with limited oversightExcellent analytical skills; ability to analyze data and relay trends and potential outcomes; ability to evaluate problems and identify resolutions; good negotiation skillsMust demonstrate professionalism and tact in all interactionsAbility to maintain satisfactory attendanceWORKING CONDITIONSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    Work is performed mostly in office settings. Some outdoor work is required in the inspection of various land use developments, construction sites or public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate drafting instruments, computers, and various pieces of office equipment.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

    The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell.

    The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.

    The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
    Travel may include overnight stays for multiple nights; travel may be by personal vehicle or by commercial airline.
