    JOB SUMMARY:
    The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the engineering and design of electrical systems for assigned projects. Specifically, this position will utilize knowledge and skills in the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing projects.

    This position will identify and provide solutions to electrical design problems and will initiate conceptual designs subject to the review and approval of the Electrical Engineer Team Lead, Engineering Manager, and Preconstruction Manager.


    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsible for assisting in all aspects of the electrical design of the project assignedReport to the team lead electrical engineer regarding scheduling requirementsCreate construction drawings, perform calculations, and write specifications as required by the team lead electrical engineerMust be familiar with the project's scope of work, engineering hours budget, and construction budgetAssist in developing and maintaining drafting, design, and engineering standardsUtilize knowledge of engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete the drawings with minimal supervisionCollaborate with project teams to monitor and meet milestones of the project schedulePerform site surveys and equipment assessmentsProvide project engineering coordination during construction as assignedServe in a support role on projects as directed by the team lead electrical engineerAssist in developing accurate preliminary design solutions for prospective complex projects within an expedited timeframeInteract with project stakeholders, contractors, and third-party associates to develop and maintain productive working relationshipsOther tasks as assigned within the scope of this role

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical EngineeringElectrical engineering experience with a professional engineering firm, or electrical contractor engaged in MEP related or similar work, preferred; internships and co-op experience in electrical engineering, electrical design, MEP, or similar work will also be considered.

    Driver's license and reliable transportationWillingness to travel to worksites, up to 25%KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Understanding of electrical and construction means, and methods associated with the renovation of commercial and institutional buildings and/or similar facilitiesProficiency with systems design (i.e.

    Fire Alarm, TeleCom, Security, etc.)Proficient user of Microsoft office suite; highly proficient use of Excel and other software used in the construction industryFamiliarity with project management software (e.g.

    Work is performed mostly in office settings. Some outdoor work is required in the inspection of various land use developments, construction sites or public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate drafting instruments, computers, and various pieces of office equipment.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

    The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach or reach above shoulder; talk or hear; and smell.

    The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally works in outside weather conditions.

    The employee may occasionally near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
    Travel may include overnight stays for multiple nights; travel may be by personal vehicle or by commercial airplane.
