The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking a part-time professional to serve as On-Call Crisis Advocate to provide intervention and support services to individuals impacted by domestic and sexual violence.

In this role, the On-Call Advocate provides hotline counseling and crisis intervention, safety planning, shelter intake and support, legal and medical accompaniments, emergency protection order assistance, advocacy, and information and referrals.

This position is a hybrid position working from home but with a
mandatory ability to respond to the YWCA, hospital, or police department within 30 minutes of receiving a request for in-person services.

This position covers the overnight shift on Tuesday and Friday from 12:00 a.m. - 8 a.m. with the possibility of signing up for additional on-call shifts.

Applicants must be able to respond to requests for services up to 8:00 a.m. including in-person services. Applicants must also be able to attend a mandatory 2-week in-person training program Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Effective computer skills and ability to learn new case management software programs
To be qualified for this position, applicants must possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, criminal justice or related field, or Associate's Degree with 2 years of relevant work history
  • Previous experience in providing advocacy, social work, human services, or other supportive services
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for travel within Dauphin and Perry Counties with valid driver's license
  • FBI, Child Abuse, and State Police Clearances

Compensation:
$50 stipend per on-call shift ($75 for holiday) plus hourly rate is $20/hour for actual time worked.
