    Position Description

    Origis Energy is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Business Development Associate with a focus on solar and battery storage solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within the Gulf Coast & Texas region, contributing to the growth and expansion of our renewable energy portfolio

    This position will support the Grid Power Senior Director, Managing Director and team in developing go-to-market strategies, leading special projects, and supporting the overall Business Development team in general analysis of opportunities, preparation of proposals, and bringing opportunities to execution. The Associate will work closely with an experienced and successful Business Development team, with the intention to grow into a Business Development Manager or Director over time. The role involves working across all business units, including project development, power marketing, EPC, finance, interconnection, and M&A, to develop clean energy solutions that enable our strategic customers to meet their sustainability goals. Experience with U.S. market analysis, project pricing, project modeling, reporting, proposal writing, and overall knowledge of the renewable project development life cycle is preferred.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Market Research and Analysis:
      • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential business opportunities and market trends in the renewable energy sector, with a specific focus on solar and battery storage technologies.
      • Analyze market data, industry reports, and competitor strategies to inform business development strategies and decision-making processes.
    • Lead Generation and Prospecting:
      • Identify and qualify potential leads and prospects within the Gulf Coast & Texas region, including utilities, municipalities, commercial entities, and other stakeholders interested in renewable energy solutions.
      • Target energy off-takers include Investor-owned utilities, Municipalities, Energy Cooperatives, and C&I counterparties.
      • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities, leveraging various channels such as networking events, industry conferences, and online platforms.
    • Relationship Building and Networking:
      • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including utility executives, government officials, project developers, and industry partners, to facilitate collaboration and partnership opportunities.
      • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our renewable energy offerings and establish our presence in the market.
    • Proposal Development and Presentation:
      • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized proposals and presentations tailored to the needs and requirements of prospective clients.
      • Present proposals to potential clients, effectively communicating the value proposition of our renewable energy solutions and addressing any questions or concerns.
    • Deal Negotiation and Closing:
      • Negotiate terms and agreements with clients, including pricing, contract terms, and service-level agreements, to secure new business opportunities.
      • Work closely with legal and finance teams to finalize contracts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Market Expansion and Growth:
      • Identify opportunities for market expansion and growth within the Gulf Coast & Texas region, including geographic expansion, new market segments, and emerging technologies.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
    • Experience and general understanding of the U.S. utility scale solar and energy storage markets
    • 2-5 years' experience working for a developer of renewable energy (wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, hydro), energy storage, and/or thermal generation; working for an energy, oil and gas organization; investor-owned utility; or working for a renewable energy buyer with experience working with renewable project developers or leading development activities at the utility
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
    • Prior experience in business development, finance, sales, or related fields is a plus.
    • Knowledge of the energy industry and familiarity with solar and battery storage technologies is preferred.
