    Clinical Research Coordinator Description

    GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

    Dr. Anne-Marie Wills is looking to hire a full time research coordinator to work on targeted genetic therapies for Parkinson's disease. The ideal candidate would be planning on a future medical or allied health degree, and would be interested in working in clinical research to gain experience and publications prior to going to medical school. The coordinator must be motivated, organized, and efficient, able to organize schedules, evaluate participants, enter data electronically and respond quickly to emails. Basic medical knowledge and experience with phlebotomy are a plus but are not required.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit and schedule study participants.
  • Coordinate scheduling of study with coordinators and investigators.
  • Maintain documentation for the Institutional Review Board.
  • Perform primary data collection at study visits, including questionnaires and limited physiological monitoring.
  • Enter all study data into the electronic data capture system.
  • Monitor and report adverse events as required by Institutional/federal regulations.
  • Resolve data discrepancies as requested by Sponsors.
  • Organize monitoring visits as requested by Sponsors and make data corrections as required by monitoring visits.
    • Qualifications

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Candidate must have strong organizational skills, a willingness and ability to learn, and interest in working with human research participants. Good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle fluctuating priorities and deadlines, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with others are required. Basic medical knowledge and experience with phlebotomy are a plus but are not required.

    LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS: Good Clinical Practice, CITI, and IATA Certification for Shipping Biohazardous Materials preferred.

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required in premedical sciences or related science.

    EXPERIENCE: Prior research experience with human subjects preferred.

    FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: Tracking and entering study visits in EPIC.
