    Basic Qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years of related experience in education, research, and designing and implementing professional development.
    • Fluency in speaking, understanding, and writing Chinese is required

    Additional Qualifications and Skills
    • Master's Degree and min 1 year of research experience involving low-income and multicultural educational setting preferred.
    • Prior program/ project coordination experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
    • Ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests.
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
    • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications, especially project management software, MS Suite, Qualtrics, and/or equivalent.
    • Experience working with (or in) education or the public sector preferred.

    Position Description

    The Research Coordinator will support projects by performing a range of complex administrative and research duties. They will communicate with and provide updates across team members and research partners, both internally and externally. They will organize and support various research and development efforts, including observations/video recordings, analytical support, and curricular design. They will help project leads with agenda management, deadlines, and research infrastructure (IRB compliance, funder reporting, etc.). They will be responsible for anticipating and resolving problems and updating their supervisor on the status of the project. They will also help ensure clear communication across the project team. They may oversee the work of support staff, students, and temps. Specific duties include the following:

    Project Management (35%)
    • Plan and coordinate the logistics and agenda for project events, including: team meetings, trainings, and other meetings as required. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to setting and communicating agenda, summarize meeting notes, collect and distribute project materials, etc.
    • Closely collaborate with project leads to support the development of meeting content (e.g., agenda, tools, training guides, etc.).
    • Travel (infrequent) to support execution at projects as needed.
    Research Support (50%)
    • Serve as a point of contact for partners, especially on tasks related to research and development tasks. Provide for smooth day-to-day flow of communications between the project team and partners.
    • Help summarize data and prepare design activities.
    • Supervise and coordinate the team of research assistants and students.
    • Assist in tracking grant progress and deliverables, including supporting in drafting project reports.
    General Project Support (15%)
    • Support logistical management of internal and external project meetings (e.g., stakeholder meetings, analytic meetings, advisory board, etc.)
    • Support partner travel and reimbursements, including understanding and consistently implementing Harvard's finance and travel policy.
    • Processing expense reports and administrative paperwork.
    • Draft, edit and prepare correspondence and other material related to projects as required by the project leads.
    • Support maintenance of project websites and materials as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    This is a part-time 20 hours/week term appointment for one year from the date of hire, with possibility of renewal.

    Job Summary

    At the Developmental Relationships Lab, our goal is to conduct research and develop professional learning materials to support parents, caregivers, and early childhood educators.

    The Research Coordinator will be joining our team and supporting multiple ongoing research and development projects, including the multi-year grant to conduct research and develop professional curricula for early care and education.

    Work Format Details

    This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only).
