    Position Profile

    Weaver is looking for a State and Local Tax (SALT) Manager or Senior Manager to lead the Income and Franchise Tax division within our SALT practice.

    The SALT team manages the intricacies of state income, franchise, and gross receipts taxes, easing compliance for clients through a range of tax advisory, controversy, and compliance services.

    The responsibilities of a State and Local Tax Manager or Senior Manager include planning, overseeing, and reviewing state income, franchise, consolidated, and combined tax returns for businesses, as well as state income tax returns for individuals.

    They must stay updated on tax law changes in different states and communicate key issues and updates to the firm and clients.


    Education and Skills

    • 5+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, specializing in state income and franchise tax
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, preferably Master's degree or JD
    • CPA, CMI, or JD certification required
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff and managers
    • Strong skills in relationship management and practice development
    • Capability to attract and serve new clients and enhance services for existing clients
