We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join Twitter's Record to Report ("R2R") GL and Technical Accounting team on-site in San Francisco.
This candidate will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP and timely reporting.You have a strong working knowledge of accounting processes end to end as well as experience with complex accounting transactions such as revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, acquisitions, and debt and equity transactions.
You'll make our processes more efficient and scalable, work to ensure the highest levels of quality are maintained in our day to day operations, and proactively minimize operational risk.
Externally, you will collaborate with our business process outsourcing partners and internally, you will collaborate across the multiple teams within Finance as well as other key stakeholders in the business.
Oversee the general ledger accounting, ensuring proper recording and classification of transactions, including:Preparation and/or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, fluctuation analyses
Assist with quarter-end close reporting, including the preparation and/or review of financial statement footnote disclosures
Partner and collaborate with the Controller's organization as well as cross-functionally with key business stakeholders including FP&A, Legal, Sourcing, Treasury, Revenue Operations
Perform technical research on accounting issues and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners
Draft accounting memos and liaise with senior management and external auditors
Maintain and/or prepare accounting policies and assist with the operationalization of these policies
Manage shared service accounting staff located internationally, providing guidance and support in their daily activities
Recommend improvements to the efficiency and scalability of accounting processes and timeliness of results
6+ years of combined accounting experience, with at least 3+ years of public accounting experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
~ Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
~ Experience working in a cross-functional global environment and building lasting business relationships
~ Experience driving change and improving the end-to-end processes with a proven track record in business process re-engineering and systems analysis
Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite
Project management skills with the ability to work with minimal guidance and in a team environment
