Welcome to the foster family counseling at Albert-Schweitzer Children's Village


Do you want to give a child or teenager a new home? We, at the foster family counseling, a facility of Kinderdorf Uslar, are very pleased that you are interested in providing a safe place for a child from difficult circumstances to have a carefree childhood.

Because there is nothing more important for young people than growing up in a safe, loving place with reliable structures.


The children's village offers you needs-based counseling and practical support: We walk the path together and take you by the hand.


Whether you are a blended, multi-generational, rainbow, or traditional family: You are a diverse family or want to become one and want to give children from other families a good home?

Your tasks
:


  • You ensure the best possible development for your foster child within their individual capabilities
  • You maintain open and transparent cooperation with our foster family counseling, your youth welfare office, and all other individuals in the support system, such as therapists, doctors, teachers, and others
  • You participate in our offers for foster parents. These include group meetings, training, and supervision
  • You maintain close contact with our counseling and take the opportunity for personal conversations every 6 to 8 weeks
  • You support your foster child in maintaining contact with their biological parents
