- Proficiently operate, manage and maintain both ground and aircraft instrumentation systems, including to power systems, sensors/transducers, data/video recording, TSPI, Ethernet, and telemetry subsystems.
- Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment.
- Perform operational checks, pre & post flight procedures, troubleshoot and repair instrumentation on aircraft as required, utilizing knowledge of schematics, mechanical drawings, wire diagrams, and technical publications. Should have proficiency in fabricating, terminating, and repairing cable harnesses. As well as utilizing electronic test equipment (Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, etc.) on a regular basis.
- Demonstrate proficiency in analog and digital electronic fundamentals.
- Utilize knowledge of schematics, mechanical drawings, wire diagrams, block diagrams, and technical publications to build prototype electronic assemblies.
- Employ hands-on experience with equipment such as a multi-meter, O-scope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, frequency meter, and logic probe to accomplish specific tasks like checkout, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Demonstrate proficiency in fabricating cable harnesses, populating electronic assemblies, soldering, crimping, and wire terminations to interface equipment with sensors, data acquisition units, and test equipment.
- Possess a working knowledge of thermocouples, temperature reference junctions, accelerometers, charge amplifiers, pressure transducers, strain gauges, piezoelectric transducers, flow meters, transmitters, and signal conditioners.
- Have hands-on experience in electrical, instrumentation, and avionics maintenance on aircraft (highly desired).
- Ability to work in a field environment, which may include shift work, overtime, and travel to remote locations.
- Regular exposure to weather and temperature extremes, drafts, and noise.
- Must have or be able to obtain a DOD security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain special program access.

Description
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II.JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
Candidate will be involved in maintaining all aspects of the flight test system to include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modification, inspection, wire repair, and troubleshooting.
Support engineering staff by modifying, installing, testing, evaluating, repairing, and documenting the operation and performance of airborne test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and ground support equipment
Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college; or technical schooling with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory; or a military equivalent is required and a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience.
Comprehensive knowledge in general electronics and demonstrated expertise in electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems along with test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment is necessary.
Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power RF devices may be required. Successful candidates will have expert-level troubleshooting and soldering capabilities.The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $71,323 to $84,531 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.
The reminder of the work is performed near hangars, near a flightline, or in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated, and has risk for cuts and bruises from using tools in close places.
Employee will frequently be exposed to hazards including but not limited to noise, moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers, moving mechanical parts, vibration, extreme heat, and fumes.
Occasionally, employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold/heat when outside; risk of electrical shock; and elevated surfaces on ladders or maintenance stands when working on the aircraft.
While performing job duties, employee is regularly required to lift items weighing 15 to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds (anything heavier than 50 pounds requires two people or mechanical assistance).
Employee is required to report any and all unsafe conditions, question nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve hazards and provide feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
