Quality and Process Supervisor - Madison, United States - Air Comfort Corporation
Description
Responsible for monitoring and supervising all aspects associated with plant quality.Direct supervision of the Quality Technical Inspectors and Process Technicians within the Quality Department.
Ensures the facility maintains compliance and adherence to ISO 9001 policies and procedures.
Directly responsible for timely conclusion and correspondence of quality issues with customers.
Must be a "team player" and will also be expected to continuously improve the different production processes in order to 'Be closer to perfection".
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve and advise the Plant Manager as a key staff member, ensuring policies and procedures adhere to the facility requirements;
Supervise the Quality and Process department, ensuring compliance with quality and ISO standards;
Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production requirements and customer delivery schedules;
Investigate complaints on existing products and respond to vendor or customers in a timely manner;
Advise, communicate, and work with other departments to resolve internal reject issues and customer complaints;
Point of contact for customers with Quality issues, concerns, or problems and ISO audits (Internal and External);
Responsible for maintaining and the organization of all ISO 9001 documents/files, ISO 9001 system, internal and external database for Corrective Action, Preventive Actions, and Continuous Improvements to adhere to ISO 9001, Customer Complaint database in adherence with ISO 9001, and Supplier Corrective Action database;
Responsible for Part Qualifications (PQR's, PPAP's, FAIR's, and PCP's) for all customers;
Continuously improve performance based on key performance indicators;
Keep up to date on production scheduling and production dial-ins;
Evaluate employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods;
Represent the Quality Department as a key staff member of the PPD-USA, Inc. Management Team.
Work Experience Requirements:
Three years of Quality Assurance Experience in manufacturing field.
Two years of experience operating with ISO 9001 requirements and procedures.
Prior manufacturing experience in compression molding or related field preferred.
Prior experience in continuous improvement and/or process improvement is preferred.
Position Qualifications:
Academic:
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, quality or industrial discipline - preferred.
Lean/Six Sigma certification – preferred.
Specific Skill Requirements:
3 years or more of quality and/or supervisory experience.
Experience working with lean manufacturing tools and implementation.
Strong understanding and background in the use of SPC tools.
Demonstrated problem solving tools.
Ability to communicate effectively by phone, in person, and in writing with peers and various levels of management within the organization and with agencies and vendors externally.
Interpret blueprints to include Engineering markings and standards.Knowledge of proper use of measuring instruments.
Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment – preferred.
Aptitudes:
Exceptional time management and organization skills to meet deadlines.
Ability to work well under pressure and in high demand situations.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Ability to withstand a variety of operating conditions.
Ability to clearly communicate and hear.
Required to sit and use both hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
