    GENERAL DESCRIPTION

    The Packing Clerk is responsible for performing final inspections, packing parts, and labeling containers prior to Shipping at Global Polymer.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Essential functions are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable.

    • Follows instructions, documented processes, and training procedures to accurately and efficiently inspect, count, package parts and label containers.
    • Follows instructions, documented processes, and training procedures to safely and efficiently collect and transfer parts pending packaging.
    • Follows training practices to trim parts as needed.
    • Provides support by identifying quality issues with parts during inspection and reporting according to standard operating procedures.
    • Ensures compliance with Global Polymer safety practices by wearing PPE and following specific job hazard controls.
    • Completes daily documentation.
    • Assists with inventory administration.
    • Helps to dispense and distribute supplies.
    • Assists in collecting daily production / parts.
    • Learns and demonstrates proper use of equipment used in trimline / packing area.
    • Maintains a clean work area.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Requirements:

    EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

    • High School Diploma or equivalent and on the job training

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to communicate in either Spanish or English
    • Strong attention to details is required.
    • Basic math skills required.
    • Proven capacity to organize time in a fast-paced work environment required.
    • Ability to act and interact with others in a respectful manner.
    • Preference given to prior production / packing experience.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
    • This position requires standing, sitting, walking, twisting, and occasionally bending.
    • Lifting of 10-45 lbs. consistently.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • Normal memory, taking into consideration the amount and type of information.
    • Required use of hands to pick up, handle and move objects often.

    • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
