    General Overview:

    The Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist I position is responsible for maintaining the computer desktop environments by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk system. This position will provide technical support to users by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining workstations and overall LAN performance.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides answers to users by identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding clients through corrective steps.
    • Provides first-level contact of helpdesk support and resolves problems to the end user's satisfaction.
    • Monitors IT helpdesk for tickets assigned and process first-in, first-out based on priority.
    • Modifies and repairs configurations, utilities, and software default settings for the local workstations.
    • Provides detailed help desk documentation of policies and procedures.
    • Installs, tests, and configures new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software.
    • As needed, traveling to various parishes, convents, and ministries (local, regional, and a small convent home in Ontario, Canada).
    • Maintains inventory of all equipment, users, and software.
    • Reports issues to the IT helpdesk for escalation.
    • Performs timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required.
    • Participates in the development of user training programs.
    • Performs regular file archiving and purge files as necessary.
    • Applies operating system security and OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis.
    • Supports local and regional Zoom meetings if any issues arise.
    • Attend and participate in meetings, committees, seminars, conferences, and in-service training programs as directed.

    Education and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; equivalent experience considered.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of IT Support experience.
    • Previous training in CompTIA A+ certification, CompTIA Network, and Installing and configuring Windows OS, preferred.
    • Valid US Passport or NEXUS Card for travel to small convent in Ontario, Canada

    Pioneers of social services, the Felician Sisters founded and continue to sponsor hospices, schools, childcare centers, hospitals, after-school programs, homeless shelters, food pantries, nursing homes, affordable housing communities, and missions in Haiti and Canada.
