- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain support of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance accurately and in a timely manner.
- Analyze test results, error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose and recommend equipment repairs.
- Perform lockout/tagout procedures, as needed, to secure equipment according to guidelines.
- Help ensure equipment, fire, and electrical safety procedures are being adhered to during walk-through of plant.
- Supports GFSI and FSMA. Assists in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant. Reports all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor.
- Supports an accident-free work culture. When developing, or modifying production processes, assists in accident prevention and risk identification. Collaborates with HR/Safety Manager to minimize risk exposure from ingredients, equipment, or ergonomics.
- The position responsibilities frequently require:
- Reading, comprehending, and following verbal and written instructions.
- Performing basic arithmetic to execute duties described above (measuring, follow recipes).
- The physical demands of the position frequently include:
- Standing and/or walking for a minimum of four hours
- Repetitive bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Exposure to variations in temperature caused by equipment or department,
- Refrigerated (38 degrees) and warm working environments (up to 75 degrees).
- High School Diploma or GED required; Completion of Trade School, State Certification preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience performing maintenance functions in a manufacturing facility preferred, not required.
- Knowledge of electrical and machine-control troubleshooting skills preferred.

Job DescriptionUkrop's Homestyle Foods is seeking to hire Industrial Maintenance Technicians (multiple shifts) at their manufacturing plant in Richmond, VA, and Chesterfield County. The available shifts are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, and 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm. Schedules may vary depending on the location and could include weekends, with some overtime required.
Salary: up to $32.00/hour (varies depending upon experience)
Position Summaries
The Industrial Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing daily maintenance and repairs in our production facilities to ensure all equipment is operating at full production capacity. The successful candidates will possess sound analytical skills, work with a sense of urgency to ensure all equipment is operating at its highest performance, be self-motivated, and have a strong sense of customer service, effective communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment, and a continuous improvement mindset is essential for success in this position.
