    United Family Medicine is a Federally-Qualified Health Center in St. Paul, where patients receive community-based Family Practice medical care in addition to mental health, dentistry, social work and other integrated services.     JOB SUMMARY: The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for organizing and coordinating the community partnerships in collaboration with community organizations, collaborative funding partners, UFM staff, and key stakeholders to strengthen community-clinical linkages. Key activities include community events management, recruitment, and participation, general marketing & communication activities, and digital marketing creation and engagement.

    Requirements:

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Implementing community events, developing relationships, reporting, and budgeting of events
    • Must be sensitive to community needs and requirements of disenfranchised and social disparities of health within community groups especially in the St. Paul service area by conducting community outreach
    • Great organizational skills and ability to communicate with multiple community groups with compassion and empathy
    • Effective oral and written communication skills to work across multiple departments and assist with the cohesiveness of UFM leadership, management, clinicians, and supportive staff
    • Organize local community partnership events from an idea/concept to implementing the program to completion including surveys and evaluations for program effectiveness
    • Attendance at community events may be on the weekends and evenings; work schedule may fluctuate depending on community events schedule
    • Disseminating appropriate educational/informational materials on culturally specific vaccination materials and use within the community
    • Manage social media and other outreach activities to engage the community relationships for partnerships with UFM
    • Complete monthly reports for program and grant activities provided to Chief Experience Officer
    • Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards
    • Assist with the creation of an annual strategy for community engagement
    • Develop and maintain the volunteer and intern programs (includes record keeping, recruitment, screening, matching, and orientation)
    • Train and support staff in volunteer and intern supervision
    • Recruit fundraising event committee members and assist with event implementation
    • Ensure volunteers, interns, and groups are recognized
    • Track data and report stories for all areas of work; prepare regular updates on impact for the leadership
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Virtual meeting organization and experience (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.)
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with others
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds
    • Excellent public speaking skills with the capacity to serve as a spokesperson for the organization.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task on a daily basis
    • General work in an office environment and remote work
    • Lift, carry, and stock marketing materials and giveaways
    • Time spent outside of an office and in the community
    • Flexible work schedule as some evening and weekend work required
    • Written authorization to conduct a criminal background check
    • Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable vehicle, a must

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public health, social work, or health related field preferred or comparable work experience
    • One-two years of experience delivering community programs especially in the St. Paul community, strategies, and marketing in populations of cultural, racial, and ethnic diversity
    • Community organizing, experience working with cultural, racial, and ethnic diversity of populations and programs, leadership experience a plus
    • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Office, Outlook, and Google required; Blackbaud and E-Tapestry is a preferred

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work is performed in a clinic office environment. Contact with staff, patients and outside agencies. Possible exposure to communicable disease and medical preparations common to clinic environment.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    None

    Beginning January 4, 2022, all job offers are conditioned on the candidate being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a vaccine authorized for emergency use or FDA-approved. A person is only considered "fully vaccinated" two weeks after receiving a single J&J vaccine or a second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine shot.

    In addition, job offers made during flu season are conditioned on the candidate receiving the annual flu vaccination before their start date.
