- Provide technical engineering information to Project Manager to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
- Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on-field and/or design issues.
- Independently performs moderately difficult engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
- Prepare complete engineering plans or reports.
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Keep Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services.
- Responsible for small to moderately difficult projects from inception to completion
- Has limited communication with clients.
- Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Direct and supervise the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.
- Relocation is available
- Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- 2 years' experience or the equivalent thereof.
- Experience in the design and analysis of transportation structures required.
- Experience with MassDOT, RIDOT, NHDOT, Massport and MBTA standards and procedures preferred.
- Experience with AASHTOWare BrR and BrD, CSI Bridge, STAAD, OpenBridge, LEAP and PGSuper and other related design and analysis software preferred.
- Experience with AASHTO and/or AREMA specifications preferred.
- Experience with drafting using AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred.
- Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Valid driver's license
