    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a collaborative Strategic Finance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and/or FP&A, coupled with exceptional business acumen. As a Strategic Finance Manager at Mercer, you will act as lead finance business partner and trusted advisor to business leaders across the organization. You will provide financial insights, analysis, and guidance to support business decision-making and improve business performance.

    Essential Job Functions for Strategic Finance Manager will include:

    Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Partner with business leaders to develop and execute strategic financial plans aligned with Mercer's goals.
  • Conduct financial, revenue analysis, cost analysis, as well as scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making and drive business performance.

    • Financial Performance Evaluation:

  • Evaluate business performance against key metrics, targets, and benchmarks.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.

    • Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with business units to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and providing actionable insights.

    • Investment and Business Case Analysis:

  • Assess investment opportunities, including capital expenditures and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop business cases, ROI analysis, and financial models to support investment decisions and resource allocation.

    • Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with various departments, including sales, marketing, operations, and HR, to align financial objectives with business priorities.
  • Serve as a liaison between finance and other functional areas, facilitating communication and collaboration.

    • Business Strategy Support:

  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic initiatives, product launches, and market expansion efforts.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to the development of long-term business strategies.

    • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business administration.
  • 4+ years of experience in finance related roles.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.

    • Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Masters in Finance (MSF)
  • Experience with Business Partner finance roles.
  • Wealth Management, Finance, or FinTech industry experience.
  • Capacity modeling experience
  • Ability to influence without authority.

    • Work Schedule: This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.

    Working Conditions: This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions. Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements. Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs. Travel assumed up to 20% of the time.

    Location: This is a remote position, with a strong preference for Boston, MA area.
