    General description


    Join the Support Services Division team as a Program Specialist I Work involves assisting with planning, developing, and implementing an agency program and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, government agencies, community organizations, or the general public.

    Assist with office furniture / staff moves between floors and/or buildings.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:


    • Graduation from an accredited high school or have completed the General Educational Development (GED) exam.
    Experience:


    • One year of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and/or other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
    • One year of experience in customer service or working with the public
    • One year of problem solving and experience working with and communicating with coworkers to complete goal-oriented assignments.
    • Experience operating a manual pallet jack, two-wheel dollies and/or furniture dollies.
    • One year of experience using small hand tools (e.g., level, hammer, screwdriver, drill and circular saw) in a work environment.
    Substitution:


    • Experience driving a large van/ 3⁄4 ton truck to make deliveries.
    • Experience working with modular furniture components.
    • Experience working in a warehouse environment.
    • Experience moving office furniture.
    • Experience operating a forklift, electric pallet jack and order picker.
    Physical Requirements:


    • Must be able to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Able to be on their feet for long periods of time, pulling and pushing; kneeling, stooping, and bending.
    • Able to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and coordination.
    License Requirements:


    • Valid Driver's License
    In this role you will:


    • Moves office furniture and/or equipment while observing all safety precautions. Assembles modular furniture for office and agency moves.
    • Prepares items for storage and organizes storage space. Able to work through process of elimination.
    • Assist with pulling supply orders. Ships freight out using FedEx Shipping Manager or other freight portals.
    • Responds to inquiries regarding shipments and regulations for CPA shipping needs.
    • Enters data into and maintaining spreadsheets, ServiceNow software, responds to emails, creates Microsoft Word documents.
    • May perform back-up duties of assisting in monitoring the ground floor entrance of the LBJ Building by greeting and receiving guests, as well as aiding and providing directions for visitors and other patrons.
    • Reports building maintenance issues to landlord by portal for repair. Follows up on repair tickets as needed.
    • Drives agency vehicle to perform delivery duties. Operates motor vehicles such as automobiles, vans, trucks to pick up and transport passengers and various types of cargo. Sorts and delivers agency correspondence, documents, messages, supplies, and packages to various locations.
    • May assist with warehouse, printing, and bindery work. Work may involve operating and maintaining reproduction and bindery equipment, testing, and troubleshooting equipment, and scheduling and completing print orders along with other duplication services. May assist with fire drills and emergency calls.
    • Operate vehicle power lift gates, manual or electric hydraulic pallet jack, two-wheel dollies and furniture dollies. Assist with hanging picture frames and mounting items on the wall.

    • Electronic modular components.

    Ability to:


    • Read and observe traffic signs, safety alerts, traffic lights, and all related traffic information.
    • Learn and apply knowledge in a variety of changing circumstances.
    • Multi-task and prioritize workloads appropriately.
    • Drive an agency vehicle.
    • Withstand warehouse climate fluctuations.
    • Track all items of value picked-up and/or delivered by obtaining signatures using a tracking sheet.
    • Follow established procedures.
    • Work with others to achieve a common goal.
    • Adjust to changing workplace demands.
    • Meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
    • Effectively demonstrate skill and ability to perform the specific job duties and tasks as defined by a job description.
    • Be dependable, punctual, meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
    Veterans:
