Description
Mueller Water Products in Decatur, Illinois seeks a Senior Product Design Engineer.In this role they will be responsible for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of product design projects within area of assigned responsibility.
The role will require application of sound engineering practices in a cost effective manner in order to enhance customer satisfaction and deliver innovative products to market.
Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns and provide project status. Apply project management skills when leading new product introductions and product enhancements while working closely with Product Managers.o Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters. May be assisted by Entry/Junior or Intermediate Level personnel.
o Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. Has appreciable latitude for unsupervised action or decision.
o Capable of leading large scale multi-functional projects and teams from initiating to closing of projects.

o Intellect:
positive participation and input in problem solving and/or product design.
o Development:
Fully competent in all tools relevant to primary job functions. i.e. JDE, CAD, CFM, FEA, Statistical Analysis, etc.
o Written Communication:
Competence in developing presentations or documents to convey important project information to higher level executives. Competent to communicate directly with vendors without misunderstanding.
Required Experience:
o Degree Required - Bachelors of Science in Engineering (BSME preferred)
o Specialized Training
o Project Management Certification (PMP)
o Engineering and Industry certifications (PE, other)
o On-the-Job Experiential Training
