This a newly created position due to the success of a meaningful mission. If your job and work have been just that, then it's time to do something more rewardingWe are looking for a unique individual who can handle the complete oversight of all accounting and finance functions.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks and staff.
They will oversee the financial operations of the business and provide frequent financial reports.Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial statements and reports according to GAAP standards - monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Board of Directors and senior leadership
Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies
Recommend financial actions based on analysis of financial statements and recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable and receivable.Oversight and development of the annual budget and forecasts and report significant variances to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
Create and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures for both non-profit and for-profit organizations; implement a system of controls over all accounting processes and transactions to minimize risk.
Take a proactive approach to continuous process improvement and efficiency.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (MA, MBA, and/or CPA are highly desirable.)
7+ years of progressive experience in finance and/or accounting.
Experience in the Non-profit space is highly preferred
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite & QuickBooks.
Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize changing workloads and overcome obstacles with a positive attitude.
A hands-on leader with adaptability, the ability to learn quickly, and be self-motivated.
