    Description

    Summary



    As a Materials Handler you will perform duties and tasks related to the proper receipt, storage, and preparation of submitted samples, veterinary biologics, laboratory reagents, equipment, supplies and related materials, as well as, disposing of decontaminated biological waste and/or materials at the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF)



    Duties

    • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
    • Receives stock from a variety of sources such as local vendors, depot shipments, UPS, FEDEX, USPS, mail, motor freight, material returns, and other similar methods .
    • Adheres to warehousing plan and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques to select proper storage location.
    • Receives, sorts, processes and prepares US Mail for delivery within the main facility.
    • Issues inventory, supplies and materials; stores and pulls warehouse stock; packs and unpacks materials; loads and unloads materials; uses computerized equipment to process orders issued.
    • Resource for external and internal customers and for communicating to ensure that outgoing shipments are packaged, labeled and shipped according to applicable regulations
    • Assembles and arranges for Foreign and Domestic shipments of infectious materials, including Select Agents and Toxins, sample kits, check tests, reagents and supplies.
    • Coordinates enhanced security procedures for the temporary storage of outgoing and incoming Select Agents and Toxins.
