DESCRIPTION:


The Material Handler is responsible for the safe handling and delivery of raw, work in progress and finished goods to work-stations.

This position ensures that material is moved to the correct locations and maintains accurate records of all inventory movement, including the shipping of finished goods to customers and all required system transactions and paperwork.


1) Raw material on the line

  • Make sure all locations are stocked with the appropriate parts including MTC 5 and MTC
  • Material will be requested based off the schedule. There should be enough raw requested to cover the time between requests. If the raw material is not present when needed notify your Team Leader immediately.
  • Make sure isles are always clear per our safety protocol.
  • When workorders are complete raw material that is left over should be counted, wrapped, tagged, and returned to B
  • Dispose of all packing material (Boxes, skids, Plastic, Ext.)

2) Receiving of raw material

  • Unload material from the truck, verify the manifest than receive the raw to B2 inventory.
  • Received raw should be stored in the racks until needed.
  • Monitor accuracy of inventory of the raw material and locations.
  • Keep raw material updated on the schedule (Trello).

3) Receiving of hardware

  • When receiving hardware or components. Packing slips should be turned into the planning dept.
  • Replenish Bolts, Set screws, LORs, LERs and SRs in the appropriate Bins or locations
  • Overflow of hardware or components will be stored in the racks above locations.
  • As the hardware in the lower half of the supermarket gets used refill with the overflow from above

4) Paint line

  • Assist paint line operator to maximize the painting process.
  • Keep the Paint line stocked with parts to be painted.
  • Finish parts will be moved to wrap/pack area.

5) Wrapping of finished product

  • Pull WO and skid tag for the product
  • Verify the parts on the skid and Tags that they are the same parts
  • Print foot labels by scanning skid tag for the parts
  • Fill out move sheet verifying the parts, foot tags, shipping tag match. Each part gets a barcoded foot label put on the foot
  • Check skids for damage per check sheet
  • If parts require an aluminum tag, verify part number and tag size, go to B3 to make tags.
  • Check the location of the aluminum tag on the part.
  • Tags need to be secure verify that the part was clean, and the roller was used to install.
  • Fill out logbook with part number, WO # and Quantity on the skid
  • Cut plastic to cover the top of skid and use the shrinkwrapping machine to wrap skid pay attention that we get an even amount of wrap
  • Print shipping tag from WO and put it on plastic
  • Move parts to the shipping area
  • Once skid is tagged it will than be loaded on the truck.

6) Incomplete parts

  • At times we will not have the correct hardware to assemble the parts on the line store the parts in the supermarket and put a tag on the skid of what is needed
  • Notify team leader to missing hardware so the call can be made to acquire needed hardware
  • When hardware that is needed arrives assemble parts to get ready for paint

7) Organization

  • Keep wrap area and supermarket clean and organized
  • Monitor and empty all chip hoppers for mounted product.
  • Empty cardboard box regularly
  • Supply adequate supplies to all areas (Cardboard, Plywood, plastic, skids, etc.)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


Must have a minimum two to five years' experience in warehousing, warehouse management systems, inventory control and/or shipping and receiving.

Must have PC skills in word processing and spreadsheet analysis.


The individual must possess good verbal and written communication skills to deal with both internal and external customers and employees must be assertive in dealing with suppliers and have good organizational skills in managing multiple schedules simultaneously.

Must have valid driver's license.


WORKING CONDITIONS:


Must possess the ability to work with constant change, changing priorities, short deadlines, and constant pressure to deliver On-Time and situational conflicts pertaining to job requirements.

Position requires walking, standing and movement throughout facilities for 8-12 hours daily.

Exposure to various climates and environmental conditions such as rain, hot and cold weather, fumes, smoke from operations, dirt and oils.

Position may require moderate lifting of up to 60 pounds or heavier with assistance. There will be continuous repetitive motion, bending, stooping, pulling and pushing of materials. May be required to climb 4 feet or higher on occasions and have some exposure to loud noises.


Overtime may be required working off shift days or hours and may be asked to attend meetings before and after normal hours.
